How to move a dead truck?

74M35A2 probably has alternator recommendations for you....

New to 5 ton what is the model of this one

I speculate that the order was changed to super singles before they had shipped the last of the trucks that didn't have the updated tire carrier etc. That's all it is - speculation. Re TM - these are part of the M939series of trucks and those will be the TMs you want.

New to 5 ton what is the model of this one

1984 and 1985 trucks had the 11.00's and the narrower spare carrier. 1986 began the A1 variation with 14.00s without CTIS, a wider spare carrier, bed a couple inches further back, different bumperettes, and a lower hitch. 1988 began the A2 variation with the 8.3 turbodiesel, CTIS, shackles...

New to 5 ton what is the model of this one

M925 with a tire swap. The spare carrier looks like the one for the 11.00R20.

Prepping a Gen trailer for the road home.

This trailer is rated for 3160lbs. TX law specifically states brakes not required on trailers that weigh less than 4500lbs. Not weight rating, but rather actual weight. TX is apparently NOT one of the states that adopted the federal requirements as their state's requirements as well. Federal...

Prepping a Gen trailer for the road home.

You're making too big of a deal out of this. Brakes should require no intervention. If they do, just disable them. Tires will probably need some air, but can be aired up at the first stop. That first stop should be no more than 20 miles. Bearings are almost certainly fine. Feel them up at...

Prepping a Gen trailer for the road home.

Dot 5.1 is different than dot 5 and is incompatible with dot 5.

    Help identifying wheels

Looks like MRAP rims. They'll work on a deuce if you use adapter plates.

    Value? 1967 M51 Dump Truck

Way more than $5k. Significantly less than an m929, slightly less than an M817. But the fact that it's a functional dump truck adds real world useability and significant value. Judging from the pics, it looks like you've done a really nice job restoring it. I'd call it $10-12k. I'd also...

    I just won this M1082 2013 Oshkosh

I'd use the MV. It's within reach and would make a nice little roadtrip for the MV. Here's the thing about the pickup truck - Sure, he moves 25,000lbs with it on a regular basis. But his trailer has brakes and the lion's share of the braking is done by the trailer brakes. The 1082 only...

    HMMVW roll bars

Sue and family were gracious enough to allow me to accompany them in their HMMWV for some mild offroading at the KAMO thing. I was very impressed with the rollcage and brush guard they had fabricated. Well thought out and well executed. The brushguard portion is beefy enough that he used it...

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

It's on here somewhere. I've seen it as an attachment.

New to the site and military trucks!

The Mack's are somewhat rare. And desirable. As to tire size, I recommend against 14.00's. 14.00's are no longer in use by the military and the supply has dried up. Replacing them will be a PITA. 395's are plentiful and cheap and frequently already mounted on a compatible rim. 395's are 45"...

    Aquiring SF-97 form

They can get more than just the tare weight wrong. The most recent XM818 that I transferred was listed as a gasoline powered sport utility vehicle. GP has typoed the serial number on more than one vehicle I've gotten from them (transposed digits or omitted digits). They seem to run about a...

    Aquiring SF-97 form

Consider- Your name doesn't appear anywhere on the SF97. The SF97 transfers ownership from the fedgov to GP. GP then fills out a reassignment letter transferring the vehicle to you. In contacting DLA directly, what you're saying in essence is "I bought your vehicle from GP. They're dragging...
