    Goodman Ball 2520 (10kW)

Someone bought it. Was it you? Some general thoughts - This looks like an off the shelf military acquisition of a civvy genset. The military seriously underrates their generators. What the Army calls 10kW is more like 12.5kW in reality. So comparing an 803 to a civvy 10kW isnt really applies...

Running MEP-803A at 50Hz for smaller loads

I predict no noticeable effects of any kind, good or bad. Given a huge runtime sample size at 60hz and a huge runtime sample size at 55hz and some seriously sensitive measurements, you might be able to detect some small differences in fuel consumption and bearing wear rates. (Huge = hundreds of...

Running MEP-803A at 50Hz for smaller loads

It may make a small difference, but that difference will be well to the right of the decimal point. JMHO

Locker in the rear axle only

The thing about lockers and snow/ice is that when you break loose you break all the tires loose and begin sliding downhill, be it forwards backwards or sideways. With open diffs when you lose traction at least one wheel stays planted and you simply stop moving.

    Aquiring SF-97 form

This has been brought up before. Thee short answer is no, the government won't accept a request directly from you.

    MEP-804B Missing Gauges

Going the other way from duals to singles all you have to change is thimble removal and a lug nut change. What's different here? I readily admit I might be missing something. Enlighten me...

    MEP-804B Missing Gauges

Same wheel and tire as a deuce. To put duals on it you'll need the correct lugnuts and thimbles and 4 identical wheels/tires.

    HEMTT wheel nuts

Specs or source for the nuts that hold the wheel halves together? Thanks

    Prep for Behr Paint

Water hose, dish soap, green scritch pads for prep. Powered wire brush for any rusty spots.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

A couple of years ago my buddy went to recover a stuck truck for an acquaintance. F150. He yanked on it in low range reverse and broke the output shaft on his deuce's transmission. His deuce went home on towbars and has sat ever since. This weekend we got the opportunity to swap out the broken...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

Could be anything from a burned up generator and a locked up engine... to a fully functional set that needs absolutely nothing. My best guess says check fluids and mount batteries and see what happens.

    Trailer lights on MEP-803A trailer

Emphatically this. Just go spend $50 on magnetic tow lights. Quick, easy, effective. No piddling with lights while GP is standing there tapping their feet in a hurry for you to go. And hacking on the trailer's lighting reduces trailer value by more than the $50 you'll spend on lights.

Way Ahead for Kansans to on road title MV stamped Off Road Use

TX explicitly allows for registration and on road use of milsurp HMMWVs, explicitly including the ones with the offroad stamp. Many states are willing to title and register them. KS is hit or miss. Edit to add link to TX's law. And to suggest it as a model...

Way Ahead for Kansans to on road title MV stamped Off Road Use

Nonsense. Your best bet of using it on the road is to live in a state that allows registration or change your state's laws to look more like TX or ID.

    Surface rust.....treat then paint

A wire brush powered by an angle grinder if I can reach it with that. Sandblaster for those hard to reach places.

Loss of Brakes (Air Pressure) Procedure

The parking brake is a futile gesture at anything over a walking speed. After you have dumped most of the forward momentum via other means, the parking brake will get you that last little bit from 5mph to stopped. Prevention is the solution. As David said above - diligent maintenance will...

Loss of Brakes (Air Pressure) Procedure

Full airbrakes with springbrakes is the safest system on the road. Single circuit air over hydraulic is probably the least safe. You're post comes across like you're worried about the air side. That's not where the worry is. The worry is on the hydraulic side. There really is no good...

    M35A2 Horn upgrades

I've seen knockoffs made from PVC instead of the cast aluminum. Sounded more or less the same and still 130-150dB. Cost about 1/4.
