To elaborate - get a wheel in the air spinning and hit the brakes and jerk it to a stop and snap it.
What's your take on a hmmwv's tolerance to increased power?
No more army HMMWVs is big news and deserves its own thread for discussion. I was unaware of it and I'll bet many others are as well.
Rereading my earlier reply it reads way more negative than intended. Sorry.
My understanding is that every state honors tags and drivers licenses from other states. If you're a SD resident then CA *should* honor your paperwork. I have driven mine from AZ to KS to GA to KS to MO and everywhere...
With almost a thousand lbs/ft of torque and 500hp you're going to break virtually everything in the drive line almost immediately.
Slantback and reasonable price don't go together.
You may have difficulty registering it in California.
1) No.
2) each purchase gets it's own EUC after the sale. Happy waiting....
3)M1079 is going to be more than M1078 due to height. The box puts it over height on a standard flatbed.
4) Maybe.
I have one that came from the military with the LWS mostly still installed. Let me know exactly what you wants pics of and I'll take pics for you in a day or two.
What James means is the fluid doesn't return to the master cylinder like it should when that little hole is plugged.
You should see a vigorous return, sometimes even squirting out the top of the fluid level.
I have plenty of room to park it in the field. You need someone to go get it or just a place for it to stay?
I don't have any 395s or LMTV rims at the moment. Not sure where to get any closer than TX. I'll see if I can find one between AZ and KS and pick it up for you if things line up.
I'd start a new thread as the primary focus of this one is shifting the gensets.
There is no tire debate. I suspect I'm wrong. I was going from memory. Presumably Coug checked the markings on his wheels.
The tire is rated for 50psi but the wheel assembly is not. The O-ring between the wheel halves won't be happy.
I run them at 40psi, which is higher than recommended.
I've never had a MT fail. I've ran many of them loaded at hwy speed for thousands of miles. What happens is even uninflated...
