    D60/14BFF Axle Swap on M1009

The d60 is a bolt in, I'd just get some new u bolts and studs. As far as brakes go I ended up buying a 1 ton master cylinder. The front and rear reservoirs are flipped but I was able to massage the stock lines a touch to swap them.

    D60/14BFF Axle Swap on M1009

http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=ruffstuff&Product_Code=14BSS&Category_Code=AxleSwapKits there are other companies that make all these things but ruffstuff has been great for me and they make it easy with that kit. Easiest would be to get the new...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Alright, I attempted to install it in the ash tray door but the cable doesn't allow enough flex for the door to close and the door itself is too flimsy to really support anything anyways. While I had it unbolted it just kind of seemed to fit here well so I went with it. Might still mess around...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

The cable is too long to put on the right side of the column in the same space so not sure if slightly higher would work. Once it warms up a bit outside I'll get out there and see if it could snake up under the dash a bit more and see. Was also thinking the ash tray area might work.

Wish your M1008 would turn like an M1009?

So did you move the axle forward 31"? Would you be able to post some pictures of the leaf spring mounting points? This thing looks great

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Ya know, not something I put any thought in to. The placement was mainly dictated by the cable length. I may see if it'll work somewhere in the middle area of the dash. It's not something I need quick access to as if I'm using it I'll most likely be stuck and winching.

The whole kits go for cheap brand new on that popular auction site. The cables are a neat design

    CUCV turbo and nv4500 swap

If/when I swap to an nv4500 I'd go hydraulic. Works great in my 70 gran sport and no longer have to worry about adjusting linkages

I can snap a picture of the throttle cable mount area later and add it

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

The NSN # is 2910-01-466-6264. The instructions are for an hmmwv but was pretty easy to figure out. Mounts to the bracket that holds the throttle cable and pedal and then I snaked the cable under the dash and mounted the knob to the left of the steering wheel on the steering column cover.

    M1008 Front Suspension

Keep in mind the front openings are bigger than the rears. Not sure where you guys are getting your measurements from

Never pulled the heads. I'll cross that bridge when it comes lol

    CUCV turbo and nv4500 swap

Ah you were referring to making it adjustable? I cut open the stock one, threaded the rod and tightened it down with the stock spring. I'm around 10 psi max

    M1008 Front Suspension

And saggy springs with a 4" shackle flip I don't think will equal new 4" springs up front.

    CUCV turbo and nv4500 swap

The turbo has an internal wastgate. Did a single 3" exhaust from the turbo to in front of the rear axle.

You can't have the block off plate and the mechanical pump, they occupy the same place. You'd have to add a drain to the oil pan to keep the mechanical pump. I went electrical and the stock 6.5 oil drain plate.

    M1008 Front Suspension

I have the tuff country HD springs and they haven't seemed to settle at all since installing 3 years ago.

Installed an hmmwv throttle control. Was fairly straight forward with a few holes drilled.
