Its a great idea. I have an 87 V30 with 159.5" wb as well. The deuce bed weighs nearly a ton so it might limit your GVWR. They look tough as nails though.
Driving at 55 will show you a lot of new scenery. If you must go faster, Waterloo Specialties makes a higher OD gear for the trans. Axle gearing would be exponentially costly.

That is a super nice genset but at $5500 for a 7 kw and $8000 for an 11 kw, it might be a little costly for the commoner, especially after a major storm where everything,including money is at high demand.
