W400 Ambulance: aka: Dubya Four Hundred Bambulance: I GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Laugh? No way. Had a guy in FL used an M101 body on an M715 and he used plastic drums to make round fenders. Looked really good.

    Bolt-on frame boxing

Time to move along, nothing to see here. ATF, gear oil? Pick one, they were both used by GM.

W400 Ambulance: aka: Dubya Four Hundred Bambulance: I GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

That looks like the ticket. I was looking at that site a while back for fender flares. I'm trying to find something exactly like the W400 has to add to my M1010. If I can source something like that, I may dual it as well.

    SEORTM Tires

As fas as I know the hubs are not flipped. The super single rims can be bolted on with the dish in or out.

W400 Ambulance: aka: Dubya Four Hundred Bambulance: I GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, the 1010 is aluminum. It does have steel crossmembers though. Galvanealled sheet might be a good choice if you can source it locally. You may want to ring up MDMorgan for some brotherly advice as he and Mahala have extensive knowledge in the field.

Also consider stealing roof skin off of an M1010. I think it's big enough. Might find a lot of good parts if you can find a 1010 body.

    1976 m880?

The M880 trucks with the odd trans and such were often called GSA trucks and after delivered, configured to look like 880s.

W400 Ambulance: aka: Dubya Four Hundred Bambulance: I GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a real nice thread on here somewhere where a fellow from FL did a frame off on an 886 or W400. Had lots of nice pics of how he removed and repaired that nose cone.

    Bolt-on frame boxing

For what its worth, in 1981 GM started using auro locking hubs on their trucks including one tons. A synchro (or the like) was necessary in initiate drive shaft rotation so that the hubs could engage on the 205 trucks. It's possible that this influenced GM along with any means to improve fuel...

    New Chevy Trucks

A newer truck sounds nice. I am not a rich person, in my world, only rich folks (and my wife) buy new vehicles. My only new vehicle wasa 1986 K-30 dually. Several of my friends have duramax trucks. I refuse to drive one. I know me and power intoxicates me. One drive and I'd have to figure...

    Cross Country in a Deuce!

I always carry one of the multi function jump boxes. Good for charging phone, 12v accessories etc. A decent head lamp (flashlight) is somewhat of a must. Don't forget how to use deuce A/C. Basically, it's a way to cool the cab that might not make sense. In hot weather, close all windows and...

    1953 m104 ???

I know the carpenters trailer had tool boxes like that. Don't recall about the corner jacks but they seem likely. The carpenters trailer had a big saw on tracks that pulled out towards the rear. Again, I don't completely recall but the carpenter trailer may have been the one with tge liftgate.
