Buy a Bud Socket (NAPA or other truck parts place) and a one inch drive set of sockets with ratchet and pull bar. Take a jack stand to rest the end of the pull bar on to keep it from slipping off. Also get at least a four foot cheater bar. Beats the crap out of the stock lug wrench and other BII.
The one time I tried to lift a super single up into the mount with the chain fall and boom there was not enough height to get it into the cradle. All the time manuvering the tire and trying to keep from getting various parts of my anatomy mashed between the tire and parts of the truck. When I...
They are being drawn out of DRMO by municipalities before they get to GL. Several county agencies in my area have them sitting in storage lots waiting for the time period to elapse before they can sell them. Check out http://www.govdeals.com/. This is where a lot of them will end up. It is a...
When I called Fleetpride about a fan clutch for the M936 I'm baby sitting they said to take it off and bring it in so they could match it (there are no numbers on the part anywhere I could find). You might do the same with the belt (I will since the belt is FUBAR too) just to make sure you get...
Prob need to buy another HETT and a real heavy tow bar in case the primary breaks down. Flat towing one of those would be a "pucker factor 10" mission.
The trouble with ramps like that is the steep angle and the height. If you make one mistake you can do some serious damage. Loading when the ramps are wet would make for some serious pucker factor.:shock:
As stated above finding a bank to load off of is a good idea but not always...
The CTIS is still on my M927 and may work (I never cycled it to see since it never goes off road). I have removed the equipment off of two rear wheels but still have it. When I swapped out the axle on the M923 I recently bought I sealed the system off at the axles and where the air line came in...
The shelter idea has merit as does a 20 foot shipping container if it will meet the height requirements. I'd use a refrigerated one so it would already be insulated. Even with an insulated container I don't think weight would be an issue unless you really loaded it up.
Well dam!!!!!!!!Now I gotta get a HETT!!!!auaauaaua
One issue you didn't address is the oil consumption of the Driptroit. When I drove over the road I ran a Kenworth with a V-8 Detroit in it. On a run from GA to CA and back we would add several gallons of oil. We called them Yamahas because...
The only difference between men and boys is the size and price of their toys. Or so I've been told.:drool::drool:
To wax nostalgic I remember as a young boy playing out in the back yard of my grandmother's house under a huge hickory tree. My brother and my buddies and I would play for...
You can swing the mirror bracket out far enough so the door stop will keep the door from contacting the mirror but then you have the problem of the mirror hitting a fixed object or the mirrors of an oncoming truck (this happened to me on more than one occassion when I drove dueces in Germany...
With a hard top and without a bed I'd go 900 and never try to start it. If it is a runner and all systems are good (cooling, elec, brakes. wiring, lights) I'd go 1200. Thats about scrap price without a bed. The good deal about no bed is you can put whatever you want on there. I found a nice...
