    Central FL M1031 project

. Way back when, Dupont Imron - in my opinion - was the best quality paint that could be bought. It still had a wet, freshly painted look ten years later in any color. As best I can tell, the "improvements to paint" these days was because of the reduction of VOC's. It seems that the EPA can...

Finding the "good" wheel cylinder kits...

. Lifesaver for sure. Quick Thinking made it possible to save the oblivious !

    Air compressor leaking oil

. It might be easier for you to go to the local NAPA or parts house close to you and buy a roll of gasket material. If by freak chance you take off your compressor and the gasket (or even if most of it) comes off whole, cleaning it up and tracing out the shape onto the new material will net you...

New to me M35A2 bent front driveshaft

. Still, it might be worth taking your new ePay shaft by a driveline shop and have them spin the new shaft. It will be worth it to have somebody with the proper tools to "look" at what you bought. Cutting out the tube on the old shaft, having it welded and balanced might make it worth selling...

    M35A2 tires / wheel combo

. I would be interested in the CTIS parts. Especially the covers. My ZIP is 28206 and I have a loading dock. Maybe a PM with a SWAG on what it might cost to ship the stuff half way across the country? Or maybe about how much it would weigh and I can poke around for a pallet shipment? Unless...

    Adding Cruise Control to C7

. Hmmm... I swear that truck looks much shorter than I remember. :carnac:

LMTV M1078 not building air pressure

. You mentioned "caged brakes". That is how the park brake diaphragm gets replaced without killing the mechanic (That is YOU!)

    Building a m101 cargo box

. It looks to me like a coat of "Navy Gray" (Battleship Gray) on that trailer would match up nicely with your trucks... A little time with a wire brush on an angle grinder and it shouldn't be awful to make it look sharp.

Deuce and a half questions about transmission

. Driving a stick and understanding how to change gears "at the right time" is a skill. My motivation to learn that at 16 was a 1967 Camaro with a three speed Saginaw. Dad figured that was a good way to give me a reason to learn a stick. That paid dividends because back then, school buses...

    Hollingsworth MEP-005a

. Definitely looks clean and pretty sharp!

Advice needed - new guy with MEP004A

. Nobody seems to be able read blueprints these days. Paper (or electronic) plans require somebody to actually READ and then use a ruler. Maybe there are some, but not as many as there was in days go by... Blueprints don't have a flashy screen and buttons to push, so these days that cuts out...

    Central FL M1031 project

. RAPCO is pretty good stuff. I have been impressed and now that I have some rattlecan paint on one of my trucks that is over a year old - I can speak from experience. It looks as good as the day it was painted... Yeah, some of the body work that the military has done looks pretty sad. But...

A gift from the DOD via Texas Forest Service

. I have to ask... Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me - I see an outrigger sticking out back on the passenger side? Also looks like there is the top of a crane boom sticking up behind the uprights on the bed. Is the plan to remove that crane and replace it with a lift gate? If the crane...

    Hollingsworth MEP-005a

. Welcome to the Outfit! You have already got the guys talking that have forgotten more than most of us will ever know about Gen Sets. Happy to see that you have already downloaded the TM's (Technical Manuals) for your machine! There are flow charts "in them thar books" that will help you...

    Building a m101 cargo box

. Dave, Welcome to the Outfit! So, how about some pictures? What are you going to use your trailer for? You mentioned a cargo box. Gonna use it for camping maybe? What are you going to drag the trailer with? .

Split boot for outer CV axle 10k success!

. I was pretty excited myself... Until I saw the Made In China part. Don't know why... Might be that they would love to kill us all. Could be a certain virus maybe?

Dogging in front med duty wench

. Lots of these trucks sit around for ten years before they make it into civilian hands - so stiff and in need of lube - could indeed be the fix.

Dogging in front med duty wench

. Might need to know how you are using that engagement lever too... Most of the time, the lever gets pushed to the disengaged position so you can "free spool" the cable off the drum. Much faster (easier) than needing two people to unspool cable to the nearest tree. When you go to engage it...

    Tale of two Deuces

. Seems reasonable compared to where I started shopping insurance... My first try was more than double the money.

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

. No Sir! I didn't claim that jeeps are better or went further out. Chances are that both vehicles with lockers would handle snow much better. It was @Hammer who made that jeep comment. He may have details that he can share to prove that point. .
