    M818 Transfer case questions

The shift rod move a sift fork. The fork is lock to the shaft by a set screw. This set screw is to be lock wired in place. If not it can and will losen up then the case will not shift. Does yours shift out of high? The cover you are looking at is to get to the set screw. I'd check that frist.

Can you pull a M989A1 trailer with a Deuce

As far I'm concered they are two different trailers but the gov just put an A1 on the one. M989 is two axle in the middle and fold down sides. M989A1 is a wagon type with a drop center. Both of these were made to be pulled by the 10 ton HMETT(sp) I think they were for hauling the rocket pods...

    NHC 250 Cummins Transplant

No it has not been done. It could be done , but the 250 is much longer and heavyer than the LTD465. So you would have to change the sheet metal out with that of a 5-ton. You would need the 5-ton front axle to hold up the wight. This would be a lot of work. All you will get is more HP. You will...

In the market for a water buffalo

For filling a stock tank I would just get a tank to put in the back of the pick up. You can put those in and out by hand in just a minute or two for a 1/4 of the cost of a water buffalo.

Question about cargo racks and troop seats

The late 80's air force deuce's (the last new ones made) had wood seats. So not sure if any came "new" with fiberglass. I was looking at the big box store the other day and seen ceader 5/4" decking. I'm thinking of getting them and ripping them in half. It would cost about $25- $30 per side...

started to replace seals on the deuce

It depend on the M105. The old (1950) ones HAD the same brakes. But then they changed them to the brakes like on the M135/M211. These have 2 wheel cylinders per wheel. The (at least some) M105 wheel cylinders use a "U" shape o-ring and not the rubber cups like most wheel cylinders. The M105 ...
