RIM CHANGEOUT (Paired 24 Stud) with Run-Flats

In other words, you MUST run a headlock if you want to be safe, although some don’t. Those who don’t are playing a dangerous game.

Dodge cheap steel rims on HMMWV, are they 17 inch?

I want to do a project where I remove the bead area and place and weld it to a 16.5 rim in order to allow for a wider range or tires. I want to standardize the addition with a predictable rim that is not aftermarket. I will need to remove the area that locks the bead and weld to 16.5 rims. I...

CAN SUPPORT BAR BE REMOVED TO ADD MORE LEG ROOM?

I have purchased sliders that will provide protection. I’m thinking of building a partial cage. I will be removing that pillar, (despite my prior statements), after I install the sliders. My vehicle has a turret so it has a roof cage. I will tie into that. I will probably make a very simple...

    M998 6.2, 3 speed trans adjusting questions

Military convoys typically travel at what speed?

    M998 6.2, 3 speed trans adjusting questions

You realize that these trucks are only meant to drive 0-45 MPH, and less if your gears are above 2.56

    Locking fuel cap available?

More like a self loathing administration.

RIM CHANGEOUT (Paired 24 Stud) with Run-Flats

How do you bend 24 bolt rims without driving into a concrete barrier? And I agree, Steve is a great guy.

    Hmmwv springs

There is no science to this. These don’t typically fail like a gear loosing a tooth. If your rig looks and drives ok then leave them alone. If your rig lists to one side or has a cracked spring then you can replace.

    M998 power steering hose leak

I answered your question already. You need to read up on all things motor vehicle IMHO
  10. TOBASH

    M998 power steering hose leak

Read the TM. It is easy. Just one long hose held on each end with a hose clamp. No, blue tape will not help withstand the many hundreds of PSI power steering fluid.

    M998 power steering hose leak

Spend like $5 and buy a new hose.

    Autozone Half-shaft fail

Triple digits in a HMMWV? Yikes! With the aerodynamics of a brick you might go airborne. With the windshield having the strength of tinfoil you might have issues without a roll cage. Testing to failure means testing the vehicle, not the driver’s life. Best, T

    Limp mode/Transmission P/N 24208421

You have a tranny sensor and or mechanical issue IMHO

    Limp mode/Transmission P/N 24208421

Did you inspect the tranny fluid to ensure it is not a mechanical issue?

Correct Wire connection for additional lights?

Dashboard side plug pin "B" on PCB/EESS IIRC Refer to post # 51 in my thread, in order to thieve 24 volt power that should turn off when you switch the ignition off. Use of a relay system is strongly suggested. Use of low amperage LED lights is highly suggested. I accept no responsibility for...

    New Model UAE HMMWV

    That is an H1
  17. TOBASH

    1987 AM General

That truck most likely has a three speed tranny. It is two door. Probably 6.2 engine. I wouldn’t spend over $10-12k

ISO Hard top roof and rear panel

86humv, Retired war horses. Eastern surplus. All of them are site sponsors. There are more site sponsors so you should look yourself too. Gamble has a hard top for sale also without a hole for the turret IIRC Best, T

HMMWV M998 presentation across the Atlantic.

With all due respect, when do you expect to drive and enjoy your vehicle? I would hate to see it become a trailer queen.

Sound deadening and custom interior install project

You’re putting plush carpet into a vehicle with a turret that leaks like a sieve? And why you need a vehicle that has night vision and is resistant to small arms fire is.... concerning.
