You need the injector pump that is specifically for the LDS 465-1a. I don't care what your manual says, the two are not the same. The LDS pump has a different advance unit, better fuel metering, and the HH delivers more fuel per stroke.
Oh yeah... And the data tag says LDS 465-1a on it...
The...
Don't do either of those. Bolt the fairlead right to the bumper and cut the rectangle out behind it that it needs. I wouldn't notch it, and you certainly don't want the fairlead out of line with the natural path of the winch line.
Fuel tank, fenders, nose panel, wheels, exhaust.... Everything says it isn an A3. I agree the hood looks wierd, but conclude that it must just be the picture.
All of the M939 series trucks came from the factory with and overdriven transfer case in forward gears and underdriven in reverse to compensate for the automatic transmission without a real overdrive.
The lower reverse gear is why you aren't supposed to back up with the transfer in low range...
You won't be able to save the paint to a satisfactory level. Sand it down to find the numbers, then paint it with new paint and stencil the numbers back on the new paint. To find the numbers you can use 150 or 180 grit and sand lightly like you are trying to dry water off of your new car.
That must have been a rear mounted winch. It certainly wasn't front mounted. May have come off of a pipeline truck and they just thought it was a 5 ton. Lots of people confuse the deuces and old 5 tons.
Of course if it did come off of a deuce in rear mount configuration then the pto is on the...
I dd my truck. When you drive them this much you are going to have problems eventually, albeit maybe less problems than a truck that sits most of the time. Mine decided to start puking gear oil out of the transfer case air switch onto my foot and accelerator pedal today. The best thing you can...
Anything is possible with 30-40 year old components that hold thousands of pounds of pressure and cycle thousands of times per minute. Your best bet is to replace the HH.
That's the last time I'll have to adjust them. No need to make a tool and all that, like I said, you can roll the motor over by the fan with one hand if you just pop the injectors loose. You don't have to remove the lines or anything, don't have to remove the retainer bolts, none of that. Just...
