Really nice to see your truck in the parade!
Glad you were able to find a qualified driver too.
Sorry to hear that you managed to contract the creeping cruddy chinese virus. Happy that you survived the WooFlu and have made it to live another day.
Next year (or maybe even July 4th or Labor...

Good plan - and like you mentioned earlier in the thread - 4 tires rather than 6 should equal better mileage (minimal) and it will definitely cost you less when you need tires...

I have heard it said before that if you have a HMMWV and it rains, it rains almost as much inside as out.
Kinda like my M1089 when I first got it. It had a leaking turret cover and when it rained - it would fill up an oil drain pan. What a mess! The truck arrived in the middle of the...

I'd bet she runs like a race car without that cover!
Won't be a lot of fun if it is raining like cats and dogs and you pick up two passengers, but at least YOU would be in the dry.

Clingmans Dome. Neat!!
In all the times I have been there, it has never been that clear.
It seems that when I go, it is always wet, damp, and drizzly.

I was thinking about a big ole' propeller mounted in the back of the truck. Drive till the battery runs down, then use the wind powered generator - and presto - in about two or three days I will have enough battery power to drive another hundred miles.

So it seems that your New-To-You M1010 brought you here.
Welcome to the Outfit!
Like the @Mad Texan suggested, pictures under the hood might be useful to your light problem. Pictures of the truck itself would make the rest of us happy. We are definitely "Picture Hounds" here.

My lawyer friend who was in the Jaycees when my dad was in the Marine Corps Reserve - doing the Toys For Tots campaign - way back when offered me similar advise and council. He was a lawyer before lawyers advertised, so he was definitely was "old school".

Seems to be pretty fantastic to me! Yeah, the color is a bit ugly, but since it runs paint is a small thing. AND it does have history in that color... Chances are that you won't lose it in the woods painted in Arff Yellow.
Thanks for the update too!

Hella Made in Germany. Better than Made in China!
Removable key switch when it is turned off.
I have one on my M1088 and I would almost call it "bulletproof". No sizzle, No crackle. Just on and off.

Welcome to the Outfit! So, we have suggested pictures. I am there too. Picture us please!
TM's (Technical Manuals) have been suggested. Free Download. A little light reading if you have a sleepless night.
I suggest that you offer up a city and state in your profile.
That is a...

Your idea of cutting the pin into three pieces is the best plan.
Heat. It's not really going to work with propane. You don't get enough heat fast enough to swell the eye without swelling the pin at the same time. Having an acetylene torch with a rosebud tip will cause the "eye" to swell...

Yes Sir!!
Thanks @Tracer .
It takes a "100 Acre Field" to turn it, but at a little more than 2.5 times the speed of sound it runs off and leaves everything we have today in the dust.
Also found another neat pic - Operation Desert Shield
