Questions for all you 543 owners

Well,I don't have a M543,but I would say something is wrong with your truck, because any 5 ton M series wrecker should manage 50 mph on the flat. Being as your truck is a Multifuel it should have a governed engine RPM of 2900,and it should have a non OD transmission.

    M911 W/Super Singles

M-37 bed holes. What are they for?

Well, the first set of threaded holes you mentioned are for mounting the fording stack, the second set that are not threaded are for a tie down of sorts, all of mine have a piece of flat steel shaped into a handle at these points,I also believe these are for fording stack storage. The last one Is a...

    Engine problems?

Well,a minor setback today, seems the 4 injectors on the left bank are really crudded up,as in it may take a professional to get em clean. Managed to get #5,6 and 7 decent(nice 6 way spray pattern) but #8 is basically stopped up(no spray at all) so we'll see how it goes this week.

Well folks,I know this is a old thread, but rather than starting a new one,I'll just add to this one. I FINALLY(after 3 years) decided to tear back into the 10 ton, pulled all pass side injectors and cleaned em,set all the injectors, valves and crossheads(some of em were WAAAAAYYYYY off), and...

    251 in the American M37

Dang,I had a 53 M37 that someone had swapped the engine /trans in,it was 12 V and I remember it having Spitfire cast in the cylinder head. I'm pretty sure it was out of a 1 1/2 ton Dodge,it did have the winch pto bolted to it and it functioned properly. It also had 4 combat rims on it vs the...
