Ill bet he will take 4K for the truck. He may be looking for a little extra Christmas money.

    Easter find M1008 2015

Rick, did you re-purpose the leftover desert tan paint or was that color stock from Honda? Now you just need a CUCV brush guard and LED lights and you can make deliveries at night.

Run Block Heater 6.2L all the time?

I agree with Gimpy. I had my truck plugged in to a outlet with switch and when I woke up in the morning I just flipped the switch on. By the time it took me to get ready leave, the truck motor was good and warm.

M1009 CUCV The Life Of 'Trooper'

As seen in your photo it looks like you have a bad case of "the poor man's rust proofing" going on. A lot of oil says you have some seals leaking; thus the need to add tranny fluid.

    Snow storm. M925 is pining

 My Christmas wish this year is for Donald Trump to build a northern wall so you Canadians can keep your snow.

New to me stake bed truck

That truck has a long wheel base and the bed is a 12 footer. You can tell from the overhang past the rear wheels

Glow plug relay making buzzing/ grinding noise

Now you have a "built-in indicator" telling you that the charging system or batteries need attention. This can save you costly repairs in the future.

    Barn find CUCV recovery

I did weld all the antenna holes shut on both sides of the body and will close the holes on the fiberglass top when I get that far. Rick, When you plug those holes in the fiberglass top you can send me those antenna wire grommets. I can use two of the originals to complete my radio/antenna...

    M1009 towing capacity question

I think he may have tried the same route as the Grinch, that's why we haven't heard back from him since August.

    M1009 towing capacity question

You'll do just fine with that size load behind your M1009. Make sure your load is balanced and you have some weight on the tongue, don't do anything stupid like take it on the interstate at 70 mph while speed plowing or tailgating. Watch your hills in Pa. and don't pull it around in real rough...

    Easter find M1008 2015

    Easter find M1008 2015

Rick, I hated the Grinch when I was a kid (because he scared me). Are you trying to mess with me?

Is $7000-$8000 too high for super clean M1009?

I agree with wheelspinner, Its worth what you want to pay. I bought my 1009 as a beater for $2,500 back in 2011 but started to fix it up because I love that truck so much. With all the military accessories I added, I now have about $5,000 in it and it sits in the front driveway just for show...

    Starts but won't keep running

Sounds like your son is not telling you the whole story. How much mudding did he do? How deep in the mud did he get? Was he racing the engine while stuck? It could be a simple thing or multiple of things causing the issues.

    Trans fluid on back tailgate.

As Tinstar noted about your brake fluid leak. If you go back to your photos you posted of your 1009 you can see the leak on your inner fender. This is most likely your source of the oily spots on your tailgate. You also may want to look on the back side of your front differential, the photo...

    Rear Main Seal Leak

Not all true. Mine apparently only leaked while running and under pressure. I never had hard starting issues, that's why when I saw the drips in the driveway I assumed it was oil.
