The deal-E-O with the 200 Amp 28 /14 alternator are multi fold. Big as heck to handle added loads and hold down that side of the truck, brushless design, noiseless for radios system, less headaches, 28 volt for all things military.
With GI Joe swapping in and out batteries, it is very hard to...
I am sure I will take some heat for this... Why all the fuss with an August 2011, seven year old battery? I just look at old batteries and get acid holes burnt in my clothes. LOL. I could take three lemons, some rusty nails, couple pieces of wire and get 12 volts on a meter. Not to sure it...
Smart move to see the inter-workings and fail points. I did the same thing. Figured keep it all original, so found a NOS one on the e place at $45 bucks, OUCH! Six month later same crapped up pump and leaking between housing and case. How could it be so hard to fix ??? Glow plugs...
Very good advice is to check and be clear how and the distribution of power to the glow plugs and when it should be or more important NOT be energized. A good set sucks a lot of AMPS 80 +/- so it is easy to see the VOLTMETER dip when when they are going hot and or cycling (voltage drop in...
Working it out...
Maybe the off-run-start switch. Not likely biased on on your tests and a starter hang / run.
Off-run-start switch, signals control / lockout circuits in in the BOX. More to it than simple old school switch to function. More like the five hundred dollar toilet seats...
YUP... It's not the best set up. Sets far forward of the windshield. Then you can get a glance thur the windshield to see who's hanging out in your blind spot. Pay CLOSE attention to it blocking your view when making right hand turns or approaching traffic. No blind spot detection on...

That's the tool posted by Lionel. If you work with rivets it is a must have. The "rivet grip gauge", right next to my 6 inch scale. Due to varying thickness there may not be a one size fix all, correctly. Here's some notes on rivets...
Not so sure the top fillers are North or South specific. Many batteries supplier, while they look the same are sold with a North or South destinations. Internal designed different (plates, separators and all) for colder or warmer climates. Here in sunny California it may not make a lot of...
If one has good hearing? you also could hear the alternator "whining" or "singing" under a charging load at varying RPM's. This is due to the three phase stator windings - magnetic field inducing this AC components into a loose laminated stator core parts. Could sound like something turning at...
Likely the Cadillac valve (on a HUMMWV?) used to control the fan clutch. It's the normally golden color, round thingie out in front of the windshield, under the hood, drivers side. When by-passing fluid thru internal design, makes a hyper sonic "hissing" further amplified by where / how it is...
I like the batteries where they placed them under the seat. Sure, it could have been better thought out... but it is what it is. Thinking out loud here??? Out over the wheel wouldn't they take a bit more of an jolting / jarring when smacking the front right side in and out of bumps on the...
In the HUMMWV... Only the 60 amp uses brushes. The others 100A, and dual 24/14 voltage units are brush-less. Not all rotating devices use brushes. Lots of newer designs are brush-less, motors, generators and alternators along with those darn scooters all over town.
I don't use a brush or a...
144 INCH pounds or 12 FOOT pounds of torque and stop. Run it a week or two and check.
Righty tighty, feels good or something like that,

Another sticky point is getting bugs stuck on your teeth along with a tickey from Barney Fife. Could be a problem in some states ???? reason for off road use only. LOL
Smile for the booking photos,

I have 17 more steps to go and she just reminded me to get off SS and GOOoo, papakb. Are the "Got the Green Disease" pills working? Not so sure they helped me after all the years.
And the street value, priceless.
Best therapy is keep turning wrenches with 86humv,

Follow up to my post and follow on to what 86humv noted "don't buy" I was speaking of the "glow plug harness" as in general or the eight leads leads that are integral to the complete engine harness assembly going to the eight glow plugs.
He's RIGHT on, save your money. And test and check...
