    Battery disconnect?

Hummwv average starter current 200 Amps. Peak to 400 Amps. Running lights, heater, wiper motor, engine average 25 Amps. Your choice, CAMO

    24-12v conversion diagram any help?

Not sure that's the exact load? pipeandwire. Looking up those products... they are fused at 15 Amps each. Not a big deal as it is not a continuous load (music /audio with varying demands) peaking at less than the 15 Amp fuse rating. Can't tell for sure as the specification are not well...

    24-12v conversion diagram any help?

AND... at some point the 24 volt converter input (the way drawn) and maybe the output needs to be disconnected. Some converters outputs are isolated / floating. It is possible the negative may not be tied together. It's all do-able. Just have to figure what time and money it's going to...

I wish I could type as fast as some of you guys.:-) Not to be left out. Just bringing up the rear?? CAMO

    24-12v conversion diagram any help?

It is not so much of a problem with the 200 Amp dual voltage configuration. With this set up and using the 14 volt output to the rear battery you get the best of both worlds, A stable 12 volt circuit for your 12 volt goodies (reasonable, see my thread above) and both batteries are charged and...

    24-12v conversion diagram any help?

Sounds like a lot of trouble to me. How many amps are you planning to draw off the 12 feed and for how long? The dual alternator will equalize your two batteries and allow for reasonable 12 volts circuits loads. Reasonable... Not a 12 volt winch or a lot of incandescence flood lighting, but...

    steering binding

My two cent worth... Ah heck, it's free. I would be checking anything that is connected to the steering components. If it moves, turns, rotates, pushes or pulls, check it. That includes ball joints or any joints. Try it with wheels off the ground. Look, listen and do it again. Something...

Just purchases M1123, need hauling advice.

Sometime the written word stands out as stronger than meant... but if it got you thinking then I would say that's a good thing. I don't think anyone is looking to flame you for your thoughts on how to get it in your driveway. If the brain cells are just ass sideways, then plan on a ribbing...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Might me like when I pour some Diesel Injector Clean in the tank, at the right dose, then dump the rest in for good measure. Sitting up tall with one click forward from normal on the seat, Stops quicker too. Placebo effect... CAMO

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Those covers crap up that way all the time. Mixed metals, salts spray from the road or ocean, beach head maneuvers. Thirty years later you can poke a stick through them. Another thing to look for / change, CAMO

Is it April ? A quart of ATF down the intake manifold. That can't be good? Can it? Fuel injection or hydro shock, CAMO

HMMWV M1038 Won't start after running fine??

Don't think you will find a fuse. There are two circuit breakers behind and to the right of the instrument cluster. Where's Waldo, CAMO
  14. Milcommoguy

    Hmmwv a-arm bolts.

Correct type of nut would be "top locks" Many of the bolts are not standard "off the shelf" hardware store stocked lengths. Always seems 1/2 inch to long or 1/2 inch to short. Whatever works, grade 8, CAMO

    Light switch repair

NOT all the same. Watch out for imported knock offs. Anything electrical, lights, switches, flashers, turn controls, gauges, speedo's, etc. Just saying........:driver: Been down that road, CAMO

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

Yes, play it safe out of dangers way, to play another day. The run-flat option can be a life saver in certain conditions. Battlefield, sure. Off road, good too get back to camp or level spot. Highway, I have had my share of "fast air releases" with "controlled maneuvers" Can't say for...

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

Mr. T An hour at 30 MPH would be under ideal conditions. More like 20 minutes and 7 MPH till tire shreds to ****. If being shot at then ya got do, what ya got to do. Either way you're late to work, CAMO

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I would be concerned if it didn't drip after three months. LOL It's part of the "where did I park it last" system, CAMO
