NO look in the TM the front out put grear is not the same as the rear out put.
Thats why you can't just add air to a sprag case. The front out put grears have a diferent tooth count between the air case and the sprag case.
NO the front out put IS a different gear ratio than the rear out put of the t-case. The diffs have the same grear ratio. The front and rear shafts spin at diferent speeds. That is why you can not weld up the sprag.
It's the load on the breaing not the rim thats bad. It's like useing a cheater pipe. The load is meat to be between the 2 brearings. When you use a rim with that much off set, the load is way off center. That will put a lot more load on the breaing and waer them out a lot faster.
Just a...
NO the deuce has a T-case and sprags just like the 5 ton. The deuce uses a likeage between the trans and tranfer to shift the sprag fwd to rev. OR the newer t-cases use air to lock in the front and has no sprag.
It seems to me the OP would be beter off finding a air case.
I did bypass the FDC it now runs as good as the M109. I'm not seeing any thing better with the LDS pump over the LDT pump. So I'm woundering if they derated the LDS pump when it was put on the LDT motor. I'm getting EGT's preturbo around 1100-1200 uphill, 700-900 when cruising, some smoke when I...
My frist driveable truck has a pump with a big orange sticker on it that says it a LDS456-1C pump LDT 465-1D eng. I thought it ran OK till I got my M109A3 with the FDC bypassed. That shop van would out run the one with the LDS pump. Was the "LDS" pump detuned maybe?? The eng is a rebuild. It...
That about how I did 2 or 3 of mine. A socket and extention:grd:
But hey if some one fines one of the plastic ones that works right please post up the part number here.
The op now states that it's "bobed" some one may have put some odd ball thing in it. He all so says the rod goes into the clutch housing?? May have been buba'ed:roll:
I'm thinking about getting a item from there for some of the parts on it. I would need some one to pick it up remove the parts put on a pallet and ship.
Or if some one was coming this way or shipping something big this way with room on the truck that could bring the whole thing.?.
I would pay...
Just watch those 14.00's on the rear 1/4 fenders. I seen one this weekend that had grooves in the tread from the bolts on the bottom of the fenders. But it did look nice thought:jumpin:
I think they also used them to run the radio and stuff on truck and tracks instead of running the big engines too keep the batts on. Think of how much fuel a M1A2 would brun ideling all night.
Yes 12.50R20 will fit on stock rims. Here is the after math of the blowout at 55mph on the road. This last pic is of a mounted 12.50R20XL on the stock rim at the lock ring showing the bead starting to crack and the gap at the bottom between the tire bead and rim bead
