Does the LMC tailgate handle come with the swingout part key set goes in?

Yes it has the base that bolts to the tail gate and the hinged part too. You will have to swap out the lock cylinder yourself. Just realize they are all the same terrible quality GM started with 30 years ago. I am on #4 in 6 years with my M1009.

    Reo OA-331 intake/exhaust questions

I have my valve closed and it is still hard to start with a hot engine on a hot day. One of our members from Spain put up some pictures of Gasser trucks in service with his country. All of the hood side panels were removed to help underhood heat and he claimed they still had issues getting...

HMMWV Starter nose cone. Aluminum or Brass??

Did you have the support bracket on the non gear end of the starter attached and tight? That is normally why the nose cones break off. I thought all 6.2/6.5 starter motors were Delco or some knock off of them. Didn't know Leece-Neville made a version. Please take pictures and report how it...

Going up on driveway, then stalls????

Play with it in park and see if you can make it stall by snapping on and off the throttle. You will probably find a starting rpm that will cause it to stall every time. If so, your IP is going.

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

Hmm, I screwed up where the pictures went in the post and got an extra too. Oh well. Anyone have comments on the rear spoiler? I have read that they keep the back glass clear of rain when driving at speed and also found mention of better mpg. Yet, newer cargo door trucks don't use them. I...

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

Continuing the saga... The 6.5 engine with the broken block over the outside starter bolt mount started as soon as we put 24 volts to the starter. It runs good with only 20-25 psi oil pressure. So if I ever needed to use it, a new pump and a look around the bearings would be called for...

    fuel delivery

Good point Rich. I have gone to the trouble of only using Delco lift pumps when I replace one. I forget that many, many people have been burned by the cheap pumps sitting in auto parts stores that last about 3 hours and die. What kind of lift pump did you install?

loss of power and white smoke m1009

Normally, white smoke which is pillow stuffing white means coolant is getting burned. It will have a smell like antifreeze. These 6.2 engines will put out an oily feeling dirty white smoke when they are cold. New working glow plugs (gps is not an abbreviation for glow plugs by the way.) with...

    fuel delivery

There is a fuel strainer "sock" in the fuel tank. That could very well be gummed up and not allowing more than the fuel needed for a no load idle. Dropping the tank and pulling the fuel pick up is probably a good idea. The straps holding the tank up will probably break when you go to unbolt...

    M1010 Engine Wont Shut Off!

It could also be your ignition switch. Does the key move easily or kind of difficult?

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

My school camera broke about the time I started bringing the parts for this project to my class. I can't bring my phone or a personal owned camera on campus. So no pictures from there. We ground the head off a starter bolt and threaded that end. Then brazed the stud to the 1993 C30 6.5 block...

    Engine Swap for M715

Any diesel is in theory a multifuel. The gm 6.2/6.5, ford 6.9/7.3 and early Cummins BT engines with the VE pump all had rotary injection pumps. They like diesel and only diesel or the pumps will fail in some cases. Especially if gasoline is mixed in. That covers feeding engines that will easily...

    Electrical issue

The negative cable for the rear battery is hooked to the positive cable of the front battery. Is that front battery cable maybe touching the truck and causing a ground?

    Cold Advance Temp Sensor Failed.

You unplugged the green wire from the fast idle solenoid. Now, unplug the other green wire from the cold start advance solenoid. Your engine sounds should be back to normal. Now, look at the very outside back edge of the passenger side cylinder head. Below the valve cover but above the...

    6.2 Broken Crankshaft Revisited.

There is a guy in upstate NY that used to join discussions like this. JDMarris I think is his username. He claimed to have had over 60 vehicles with 6.? engines over the years. He also wrote that he worked as a Chevy mechanic back when they were new. He wrote about his one and only crank...

    Brake locking

Besides the possibility of gear oil or brake fluid. Just regular moisture in the air could cause low speed grabbing the first few times you hit the brakes. I have that in one of my trucks. No leaks. Just O'Reilly's house brand shoes. New studs are are cheap and in theory should be better...

    Dont shoot 12v conversion

There is now way to just plug in a civilian square body full gauge set. I have found at least 3 different flexible circuit board wire routing while trying to figure out a way to do this. There is the CUCV wiring, the civilian idiot light wiring pattern and the civilian gauge pattern. All use...

    M1009 IP Solenoid

Can you hear/feel the solenoid click when it is installed? Maybe your engine isn't grounded causing no power to flow to the solenoid when on the truck?

    New Texas member here.

I even dated a girl from Elgin back in college too. Actually, you are surrounded by green iron owners. We just 2 weeks ago had a gathering in Bryan/College station. Check out the LSMVPA for all the afflicted in the area. We meet the 3rd Wednesday of the month at Camp Mabry.

Cool. Now I won't be the only one leaving smoke trails on 290 in the area. Welcome.
