I don't have my truck here to look at so I can't answer your exact question. However, I have had broken door latch springs. I couldn't figure out a way to install new springs and still have all my finger tips. I would suggest you replace the latch.
Kwai, Colton and I showed up at Ed's compound around sunrise after driving all night eight years ago next month. We were there to pick up a M109 and a pair of M101's Kwai had bought on GL and Ed had gotten off base. They weren't his, he was just the storage/middle man. Yet, he had checked all...
I bought a multifuel hand throttle and just cut it down to fit. Works great. Looks stock too.
If you are not concerned about keeping it stock. Try to get an aircraft type vernier style hand throttle. Infinite adjustment is nice.
The engine should start faster than you can think "let go!" To yourself once you turn the key. Hot or cold with everything working correctly. Sometimes you will learn that two glow plug cycles below a certain temperature to avoid cranking more than 2 seconds is needed.
My first 6.2 with...
I had DPS pass me on my way home. He just waved. Colton got Amber back to Waco and then home himself without issue as well.
I hope everyone else made it home ok.
Here he is the video I got of the convoy leaving yesterday morning:

Once again it was great to see...
Do you need help as I roll through Clint?
Colton just called from school. He made it out of the driveway this morning before the u-joints started squeaking. He parked it and drove something else to school. I guess we should have test drove it last night. We might swap another shaft on in a...
I got the M715 all checked out and loaded up. We swapped u-joints on RED a few minutes ago so Colton should be set for his 400 plus miles he will cover this weekend. I am all packed and Colton has a clean suit for the formal tomorrow night. Plus, the weather looks like it is going to be just...
The first 10 minutes are kind of boring. However they do a good job of showing how to remove and replace the IP. Kind of funny to see what didn't make it into production as well.

Sitting for a month, year or more is not an issue with these mechanical injected engines. As long as the IP had fuel when it was turned off and has fuel to it when it is started again. All should be good. Pulling the glow plugs to let it spin and get oil circulating with the pink wire...
Swollen glow plugs normally don't work. Getting them out needs to be done sooner or later. Might as well do it now and put in some 60g's. When you do, put power to them no more than 10 seconds at a time.
When you you do get it started. If it idles fine but dies as son as you give it throttle...
The wire for the horn ground comes into the column under the dash. Basically, right over the brake pedal. There is no grommet there and old insulation can easily rub itself off right there.
As pointed out already. The horn button on the wheel is just the ground. Power is already at the...
Give the pink wire on top of the IP a wiggle. I had one just pop off going down the road at 70 mph 230 miles into an all highway drive. I just happened to see it as soon as I popped the hood and was back on the road in a few seconds.
I think the firewall ends of your cables is probably the...
I got the best mpg of all 7 trips with the heaviest load of engines. 12.9 empty and 12.7 loaded running the speed limit both ways. Pulling trucks I never got better than 11 loaded.
I have tried two days now to post up pictures. Something in that process must have changed because I can't figure out how to do it anymore. When I get smarter, there will be pictures.
