Manual Override of Glow Plug Controller

Restricting the exhaust to aid starting a diesel engine isn't bad for it. It increases temperatures in the combustion chamber as a function of backpressure and initiates ignition that way. It isn't specific for hmmwvs, but rather works for any diesel. Works for NA better than for turbo engines...

    M998 upgrade

You hear them called a 1 1/4 ton truck. You know that civvy 1 ton trucks pull this type of load. Therefore it should not be that much of a stretch. ***nothing could be further from the truth**** The performance of a hmmwv is far closer to a jeep wrangler than it is to a heavy pickup truck...

How do you stop a m809 if the brakes fail?

I speculate that manufacture dates on the data plates were occasionally changed when going through rebuild. I've seen Manufacture dates on 939A0series trucks as late as 2007. And we drift off topic.....

How do you stop a m809 if the brakes fail?

Consider the rear diff ratio of 6.44:1. This makes a pinion brake useful only for very low speeds (which is where you see them used....) Using a pinion brake to try to make an emergency stop from even 45mph will just illustrate how kinetic energy will transform into heat and melt it. There's...

20kw Generator - Drash / Applied trailer battery question

The J1 port is 60 Amps of 208v 3phase. I run that to a PD box that splits it into 120v single phase and also has a pass through for another J1 connector. I wired up an adapter that grabs 2 of the 3 legs from that port and supplies 208v single phase. I plug the welder or plasma cutter into that...

20kw Generator - Drash / Applied trailer battery question

They come in a couple of sizes. The smaller one is 23kW and 3 phase. It uses about a gallon an hour of fuel whether mildly loaded or running full load. I have one and use it for primary power for offgrid property as well as a power source for welding and plasma cutting. I'm accessing it as 120v...

395's on mrap rims with adapter plates. This is as big as you can go with an unaltered deuce. (Also pictured next to the stock 9.00R20 for comparison)

11.00R20 G177s. This is as big as you can safely go on the stock rims.

Can 3 phase environmental control units be converted or used on single phase?

This! A 3phase mil genset is less $ than a phase converter with enough oomph to run HVAC.

    Is my M813 sprag sticking?

Forgive me for asking the obvious.... but you're aware of the atypical shift pattern on these trucks right? You *are* in 5th gear?

    M816 14.00 duals

I doubt it. At least not without spacers between the wheels. And what you can get away with empty will change with a load and some sidewall flex.

    M816 14.00 duals

98" with 11.00's. The 14.00's should put it about 104" at minimum and possibly a good deal wider. Legal max is 102" without using placards. I like the way it looks. The stance is spot on. This should also increase load handling and crane stability. I'd be interested in a measured width...

Will a humvee key switch work in a M-series truck?

What you have pictured is a 939series truck. I strongly suspect it'll work in an 809 series truck.

    best place/way to buy m35a2?

All of the data plates are available new. No big deal.

Question: Has anyone installed the AC system made by restomod air?

I'm not sure that the opinion of a guy in Florida about the heating capabilities is relevant to the guy in Colorado who is asking. Something about different definitions of "cold". Sadly, I have nothing relevant to add.
