No Jury-rigging, jerry-building, jerry-rigging about it. There are OEM Factory arms that are built to accept this plastic piece so cutting the HMMWV wiper arm to size is not doing any harm. As far as a safety item... even in snow and ice I doubt there is much pressure against this unit. Mine...

The Milwaukee high torque unit is terrific. Gobs of power. Rust was no issue. Front bumper came off easily in under five minutes. Now I gotta find the TM in installing an electric front winch. I have a unit BUT I want to see an exploded diagram.
