All fuel cells and fuel tanks have variations in the position of the float and arm that holds the float. If that arm has a bend in it, it might give you a false reading that has nothing to do with electrical and everything to do with mechanical maladjustment.
By using the term "jump", I'm guessing Osteo means hitting a ramp and taking air, not electrically jumping the batteries. ( Probably safe bet he is also not advocating mugging or beating someone, and not talking about taking advantage of a member of the opposite gender).
I’m beginning to think I’m going to make something myself. It’s not a hard design to imitate and there are plenty of silicon heat resistant compounds to choose from.
You can replace it now or waste a bunch of time and money and then still need to replace it later.
I priced out replacing with aftermarket vs. replacement and for that capacity it was only a few bucks less. Not worth it. Trying to repair rusted rotted steel is probably a setup for failure.

2) Replace the oil/tranny cooler unit. I just had a similar issue. Mac Motors sells the part. About 600 clams.

You might find that an engine swap is not as scary or difficult as you think.
I got lucky with my mechanic who knows HMMWV's, but others are not that fortunate.
You live in Florida, so you have better weather and might be able to work outside under a tent or in a garage depending where you...

A mass produced Tesla battery costs 30k. The motor refered to in this thread costs over 30k. Odds are you would need two electric motors for a HMMWV.
For that money you can buy a complete electric car or three brand new economy cars.
Like I said... Fools Errand.
Yeah Action. The real art is designing and placing the four axle motors and designing a battery with enough energy that won’t blow up.
But I get you. It would be quiet enough to hear my wife complain.
Closed minded? LOL
This idea of converting a HMMWV to electric is a fool’s errand.
I own 2 Teslas and I know how they work. Power goes directly to the axles to avoid parasitic energy loss from trannies and transfer cases and in our case the axle boxes. Without batteries our vehicles weigh in...
1987 M1025A1. Mechanical turret without electrics.
I live by the ocean. I have rust. I hate rust.
I am wondering if there is an Aluminum roof for HMMWV’s with a precut turret hole that will accept a mechanical turret with the under roof support bracket. It also needs to properly mate up with...
On mine the problem was that sea air created corrosion that kept the spring from pulling the throttle/cable to the idle position. A stronger spring and some WD40 and more frequent driving fixed the issue. Ensure the throttle is at the idle position BEFORE you start rebuilding the unit. Work the...
