    Snow Handling

People are talking about “siping” the tires. Several studies show it does not work.

    HUMMIES for DUMMIES

I can’t start my rig!!! OMG. Is it the PCB, the starter, the fuel pump, the batteries, is there a battery drain somewhere, did my alternator blow everything out????? How much is this gonna cost!!??!!?? Oh wait, I forgot... I left the damned three speed tranny in “Reverse”. Let me just slip it...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Why not see if a Ford Escort steering column fits your needs. I believe the Escort column is what H1 models use.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

With an antenna like that, is seems that you’re trying to compensate for something. 😉

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Decided temps less than 20 degrees F are too low to DIY, so sent the M1025 to my mechanic for installation new oil and tranny cooler, new radiator, new power steering cooler and new water pump. She started up like a champ at 17 degrees and in the shade.

    Snow Handling

HMMWV’s demonstrate Newton’s Law that objects in motion stay in motion. Hit the brakes and they lock and slide. You need to feather the brakes.

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

I already have the unit. I can post pics in a few days. Currently packed away in my outdoor storage container, and it’s cold out. One advantage of the Whipple is rebuild parts seem to be accessible in the USA. I wonder about the Bullet for us in the USA. Also what about delivery charges? How...

    Front Left Wheel Knocking Sound

Start simple... Is the shock absorber properly bolted in place or did it loosen. Might also be the torque converter shield OR the under the tranny heat shield. These are known areas of issues. Then, Ajax MD seems right on point.

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

As I wrote in my EDIT above, the Bullet seems too high to fit the body of our HMMWV's, even with a body lift. You might want to measure things out. Please refer to my EDIT above.

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

What is a Bullet from Australia? Please provide a link or information. EDIT - The unit you speak of is roughly $6k plus shipping in US dollars. It is super tall, meaning hood and perhaps body modifications in addition to body lift of at least 2". I suggest you measure the unit out...

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

Yeah, I might have had to pay a few clams for the 765R4, and I agree that a 700R4 is way strong enough for everyday on-road use. I have a 765R4 with a 1900 stall torque converter. Given I live by sand and I might take her offroad at times and I am adding a Whipple, I overbuilt my tranny. Make...

Pcb and glow plug controller replacement help

I suggest you search my thread regarding protective control box replacement/bypass where I have schematics on how to bypass the unit for less than $300.

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

I bought my 765R4 which is an upgraded 700R4 from bowtie overdrives in California. I’ve been very happy. That being said I’ve only driven it for about 100 miles since the transmission was installed but it feels great.
