There is a TM technical manual on how to purge the fuel delivery system. You will need to follow that protocol to purge the fuel filter and the injectors.
I would NEVER apply voltage to a box out of the vehicle. Not unless it is a manual home made box.

IIRC turning lights off before turning ignition off can damage vehicles. Also the switches have multiple positions that can confuse you. I have wondered why lights did not come on just to find I had the switch in blackout position.

We also use DOT 5 brake fluid, not DOT 3 or 4 or 5.1, in case you made that mistake also.
I bought a 30 year old truck to allow me to insure and title as a classic vehicle. It bypasses some titling issues.
I don’t know what it is like to title a vehicle in Georgia, but some states won’t even consider allowing you to title and drive a former military vehicle.
