    Saved another one REO M35

Glad you saved it. I'm too far away or I would have grabbed it.

Yep, you aren't supposed to remove that bolt... Ever...

Deuce Multi-fuel crankcase full of fuel - please advise over

If you loosen all the injector hold down bolts and just unseat the injectors ( no need to pull them out), you can roll the motor over by hand from the fan. I did it today adjusting my valves. Way easier than barring the engine over by the jackshaft, and as you know, I'm always by myself.

LDS Hydraulic Pump Powering a Hmmwv Hydraulic Winch

Idk man, some pumps just whine. If it is pumping fluid and not making metal flakes I'd run it. The whole truck rattles anyway..

    Air Horn Air line

Yes, 1/4" npt fittings to 3/8" line.

    Got a Deuce! '62 M35A1

The universal joints will not have enough range of motion to keep from binding up and breaking when you turn sharp or back the trailer. Only way to do it would be to have a double cardan joint on both ends with the driveshaft supported in the middle, like the 6x6 mining dumptrucks.

LDS Hydraulic Pump Powering a Hmmwv Hydraulic Winch

Pretty sure the restrict or limits the flow to the winch to keep from destroying it, kind of like a hydraulic shear pin.

Old mixed parts M35 Gasser VIN ID ?, please.

May not be as pieced together as it looks after all.

LDS Hydraulic Pump Powering a Hmmwv Hydraulic Winch

That isn't a bad idea to run it the same way the HMMWV does. You just need a bigger tank or one better designed is all.if you had a tank that was deeper but narrower, with the intake fitting on the very bottom and the return on or very near the top you might get away with the one gallon size...

LDS Hydraulic Pump Powering a Hmmwv Hydraulic Winch

Tractor supply carries small capacity hydraulic tanks, 3-5 gal sizes. Or you could just use an old air compressor tank if you can find a small compressor that the motor crapped out on. You'd have to do some mods to it in order to plumb the lines in. Easy if you can weld.

    Anyone use Motorkote,or Hot Shot?

In fact I have. I like the stuff. I don't use PS Dieselkleen anymore. For me it is Hotshot, or Howe's lubricator, or nothing. I do run tcw3 oil with my fuel most all the time, but as a lubricant only, not a cleaner. Best bang for your buck is the Howe's lubricator. Use the Hotshot as an initial...

    Anyone use Motorkote,or Hot Shot?

You can catch the Hotshot injector cleaner on sale at Tractor Supply for $11. I bought two bottles, which was all that was left on the shelf a couple weeks ago. And one bottle is enough to treat two tanks on a deuce. Note that it is not to be used more than once in a six month period. I don't...

LDS Hydraulic Pump Powering a Hmmwv Hydraulic Winch

If you went with bigger suction hose it would get worse. Ever notice the little whirlpool that happens when you drain a bathtub? That is what is happening in your tank, and why it is sucking air. How do you stop the whirlpool in the tub? Notice it only starts when the fluid (water) gets low...

LDS Hydraulic Pump Powering a Hmmwv Hydraulic Winch

He gets away with it because of two things. # 1: the fluid has a longer path to travel before it goes back to the tank ( notice when you use your winch things quiet down, that's because you lengthen the fluid path temporarily), this allows the whole system more capacity and opportunity for...

LDS Hydraulic Pump Powering a Hmmwv Hydraulic Winch

Ok Dan, the foam has settled now and that is why most of the whine is gone. It is still whining at more throttle because the reservoir is too small. That pump is pulling fluid from the tank and circulating it back, then picking it up again before it has a chance for any bubbles to settle out...

Deuce Multi-fuel crankcase full of fuel - please advise over

I imagine 6-8 pounds. There was apparently enough residual oil left in there to partially liquefy the grease.

Deuce Multi-fuel crankcase full of fuel - please advise over

Ha, diesel in the oil isn't that bad. I found the front axle on my dad's truck filled with grease yesterday, not oil. This truck came straight from the Air Force, to GL, to me. I can only imagine that some motorpool sergeant told someone to "Grease the front axle", meaning the hubs and knuckles...

    I'm not 22, I was guessing Wildboy's age. I'm 26.

LDS Hydraulic Pump Powering a Hmmwv Hydraulic Winch

It is just air. The fluid gets foamy because the pump is cavitating. If you go through this a couple more times and it doesn't clear up then you need a bigger tank. That tank is awfully small for what you are doing with it. I would think more like 3-4 gallons or even 5 would be best. Remember...
