Maybe they are just busy, or simply don't care to put any effort into the conversation. No telling. I can't say I blame them, there are plenty of threads I decline to post on because someone else will be along to say what I was going to say anyway, and I don't feel like explaining something. Us...
A line spooler like that would be really nice for the Garwood 10k on the front of our deuces. I'd pay good money for one. Spooling the cable back in properly is such a pain, and even more so by yourself.
The dash may well have been swapped out though. It seems like whoever did the work sat the two trucks side by side and just transplanted enough parts to make everything work, quite possibly including the dash and cluster. I could probably tell you all you needed to know if I was there to look at...
Are the electrical connections the same, or is there splicing involved? You make it sound like it is plug and play... Please elaborate. Btw, I got a part number for that filter base today.
I was only kidding, not trying to insult you. Good condition trucks, with only maybe a couple of upgrades and most or all of the service work done easily pull $7000 now. A decent runner with good body, no upgrades, and little of the services done are starting around $5000. With the rust and...
Why pass on it? You'll have to do all the same work to any other truck you might get anyway... Unless you were to buy a truck from someone that has already done it all, like me. But you won't get one already done for anywhere near that low of a price.
True enough, but in my case it would be nice to have a mechanical switch because I can actually come to a full stop at low speeds without ever having my brake lights come on. And I already installed a new pressure switch. No gunk or water in my lines. It just sucks.
If he were to mount it to the pedal it would be dragging wires every time it moved. Most brake switches are not mounted to the pedal, they are mounted to a bracket by the pedal that allows the switch to decompress when the pedal moves away from it. Brake switches are normally open switches, that...
I think that M59520 is your number. Kind of looks like some rust from that patch above it may have ran down into the numbers when it got wet and stayed there. Doesn't necessarily mean that the numbers were re stamped or are in bare steel. Take a cotton swab and some cleaner and try and clean the...
He just barely has a $3500 truck there. If it didn't have that winch it would be a $1500 truck all day long with the issues it has. Doesn't matter if it has fresh paint when there is so much rust! Then you add the brakes and blinkers, then other possible problems. Just pay the man and go get it...
I have thought about it. I have the air switch and it doesn't leak but it takes a lot of pedal effort to get the brake lights to come on. Whatever you do, don't mount it to the pedal.
I'm betting on a 74' am general. You can tell the inner fenders are later style. They could have been swapped, no telling really. Who cares? As long as the title is clear and the numbers match I'd buy it. I've seen much worse. Airpack looks like any other airpack that has been under a deuce for...
Look in front of the turbo on the same area of the block that the dipstick is currently in now. There should be a pipe plug in the block. Remove it and put the dipstick there, then put the plug in the rear hole. Dipstick should come up just in front of the intake elbow.
Stop futzing about and...
They are great if you get a good deal on them ( maybe $150-$200 per pair). They are not very reliable. I've been through several pairs in the past year and a half. It is absolutely imperative that you have good grounds for them or they will fail in short order. Drilling vent holes in the...
