I was thinking of drilling and using a self-tapping bolt, and then realized simplicity should rule for field situations with no tools. Here is an option if it is long enough to go all the way through the bow pocket.
Beads won't work with grease. The only way to know is break them down and look inside. I suppose you could remove the runflats and clean out the grease, but I would still be concerned about residual grease causing problems.
Helmet,
You may want to post this over in the "Auxilary Equipment" section. There are threads there related specifically to MEP Gensets. Also the guys frequently reading there are an amazing wealth of knowledge.
Mods, can you move this over there for the OP?
Nice looking rig alpine! I'm glad the recovery went smoothly. I'd leave the rear springs alone if you ever plan to haul any weight. I'm not sure on a source for softer ones.
Congrats on the purchase! Welcome to SS from TN.
Its difficult to tell from the photos, but that platform is interesting. Do you think the truck had a command shelter mounted?
Well that was nice of him! Did you get a ride in the H1? Looks like it has some fairly extensive mods. Feel free to share if you know some of the work that's been done.
I decided on m38inmaine. I recall his goat build/restoration thread was one of my first "reads" on the forum. I learned a lot and found out how well everyone here works together. You got my vote m38inmaine!
I'm with Ben. Last month tankdriver did an excellent job describing his journey and got my vote. Tinwoodsman has similarly given us his story. Granted it is a great story and restoration job, but I'm sure there are more good stories from the rest of the crew. Goats and all!
I caught a bit of the sale during lunch and was also surprised at the prices. I always watch the KY trucks since I'm close. They attracted quite a following this week!
Welcome If it's the one in your avatar, it looks nice! I can't see the pics either. I hope you can get them uploaded a different way so they are visible!

Very nice truck Juan! I'm surprised they let you drive it off the lot. I just saw florky's last week. He did a very similar conversion that came out very well.
Post #25 in this thread may be helpful. There are some PDF's attached from AM General showing the alternator hook up.

I can email the PDF if it is too hard to read here. Just PM...
