You are correct that traction aiding differentials can cause interesting handling on ice/snow. Lockers or soft lockers are good for off road situations where suspension action is also in the mix. However, my experience has been that standard open differentials are a great middle ground for ice...
Welcome XCRV! My truck is the 1996 M-1078 A0 version. Still a very nice unit. A/C can easily be added as many have done here. Let me know if you'd like to get together sometime as I am nearby in west Nashville.
It looks like the item sold. I hope you got it! I'm no HMMWV mechanic, but know generally what to look for. Let me know if you still need any local assistance.
It sounds like a line of bravo sierra. I've had many cars tinted. They always cut to rough shape on the outside and install on the inside using trim & tuck. They instruct you to keep the windows rolled up for three days and park in the sun to dry it out.
I don't thing that shop wants to work on...
I had to buy a NOS passenger handle to replace a broken one. The new one came with 2 keys. I then took apart the drivers key cylinder and did some filing and rearranging of wafers until the keys also worked for that door. It sounds kind of difficult, but once you get it apart it becomes pretty...
In a FMV (former military vehicle) you are always being viewed as if it's a parade... and always on your way to or from a fuel station. My fuel gauge is stuck on 1/4 tank... works for me! Of course here in TN I was able to register with a weighted commercial tag as a farm truck.

I wonder if some confusion for the OP arises from using the IP/GP mobile app? I've noticed information shown there is abbreviated compared to the full website. I've specifically noticed the location is tough to determine on the mobile platform.
Welcome aboard! The LMTV squad has posted good suggestions for your issues thus far.
Thoughts on the engine temperature issue:
-it's good that the fan operates for you as that can also be a problem
-your temps mentioned seem a bit low for when we normally expect the fan to kick on.

No, I searched parts houses all over town. I ended up buying a used solenoid from suprman. He actually sold me a double solenoid unit, so I now have additional spare parts. PM me if you can't find what you need.
Nice truck Wire Fox. It does look pretty complete and unmolested. It sounds like you have big plans for it. Keep the photos rolling in once you get it home and start working on it.
That's a beautiful sunset there Dan. Try to look up from the task at hand every few minutes to enjoy where you are. I'm offering a prayer for a fellow LMTV owner. You'll make it through just fine.
You may want to post in the classified/wanted ad section. There are quite a few members in your area. Somebody that frequents the Grove City/Lockbourne auctions should be able to source you an affordable tire/wheel combo.
