    Richmond, VA wounded deuce recovery

Beautiful truck and congrats on the recovery. With regard to which is better...a 1971 M35A2 or a 1966 M35A2...they will perform the same. However, your truck probably has a sprag instead of an air-shift front-axle. The sprag is just as good. It is possible that your truck was upgraded to an...

    Fort Meade Inspection

ARMADILLOFZ1: I like to believe you typed incorrectly. I hope you are NOT only interested in inspecting "IF I FIND SOMETHING THAT INTERESTS ME!" I hope the purpose was to help the original poster. However, the slight dichotomy displayed here explains why I was considering postoing the following...

    5 Ton Battery Relocation Kit

The A2s DO NOT require 4 batteries. They must have left things that way for really cold weather applications. I, too, am running two batteries in one of my A2s and have never had a problem. The 8.3L motor is fairly small (compared to the NHC250, which I believe is about 11L off the top of my...

    Highway speed of 5ton

Randy, as usual, I agree with you. Most guys forget that these tires were not designed to be run over 60 MPH and, in fact, I have had Michelin XL 1400s that were marked 55 MPH max. I have also had others where I did not see that warning so I am not sure if it was the run, or if the warning was...

    Hello from the Eastern Shore

SPIN, welcome to the site and glad to see another Marylander on this list. Guys from this list get out your way regularly. I know that Pete (ORIONSPATH) goes to DE with his deuce and I visit OC frequently. Hopefully, we will meet up. Again, welcome to the site. If POWERHOUSEDEUCE does not...

Gimp, do we call you GIMP or CHRIS or D-BAG COLLECTOR? Just curious! :-D

    thanks to westfolk

Joe is a stand-up guy who you can trust. He and I have done business in the past and I would not hesitate to deal with him again.

    Wreckerman loves Jessica

I wonder if the Allison 5 speed has an impact on the truck's performance. There has to be a reason why they never went away from the CAT 16 speed semi-automatic in the heavier trucks (e.g., M916, M917, M919, M920). I know, driving my M917 empty, you are only in any gear for a second or two...

How much would you bid on an M819?

Gimp, do I really want it? If I do, I'd bid a dollar more than you. No, seriously...it would have to be worth what an M816 would bring. They are less desirable to the masses, but they are more rare and that makes them desirable.

    New member from New York

Nate, where in upstate NY are you located? My parents own about 100 acres in Cherry Valley, about 45 minutes from Cooperstown.

    Questions: Steam Cleaners

Also, be careful on undercoating. Most trucks with undercoating that I've seen have a sticker that says something like DO NOT STEAM CLEAN.

    No Brakes!

Don't forget to inspect every inch of brake lines for a leak.

    m105 camper

Keep in mind that water flows across the floor of the trailer if it rains. Don't leave anything on the floor of the trailer that you want to keep dry. I have slept in an M105 many nights at shows. It is OK...that's about it. It is MUCH nicer sleeping in the back of a deuce or 5 ton.

    Needing 5 Ton locker

Or, you can contact Taylor's Surplus in GA. He had take-outs available a while back. I am not saying that GEARHART is not reputable, but I can vouch for M1075. I have done a lot of business with him in the past and he is a good guy...always honest and you always get what you buy. Most guys on...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Chris, you and Chad were missed at Aberdeen last year. I'll be looking forward to sharing several beers with the two of you this coming May!

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

It is always nice to have a brother like Chad helping out! Looking great, Chris!

    towing a deuce

Chuck, you are 100% correct. The problem is many guys think checking the fluids is checking the truck over.

    towing a deuce

This is a great post...and a great lesson that WON'T be learned. We all know that most guys will still drive their trucks out.

Sad, sad day. My Pinz is leaving me.

TODDS112: Check with NEWFDAD. He is in MT. I realize that is a long distance from you, but, for some reason, several hundred miles doesn't seem far out west! Anyway, NEWFDAD (Keith) is big into the Pinzgauer and offroading and you might find a new friend. Sorry to hear about the truck leaving.
