My M35A2 Project aka Big Betty

Nope-waaay too tall. Nothing is available premade, GI or civvy that will fit. I looked. Only idea I've come up is a a way to mount some ammo cans above the tank and make them removable (i.e. some kind of mounting system like sliders or such).

1956 Dodge Deuce and a Half

I'll bet it's like this, no? http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_327476-Dodge-W-500-1962.html It's a Dodge W500 with dual rear axles. Phenomenally rare. I would break many laws to own one.

    Radiator Fan Shut off

Never in my 25+ years in the automotive industry have I seen a selectable, "on/off" fan engagement mechanism. Not to say it doesn't exist (seems like the 939 series 5 tons have some kind of fan thingie someone was telling me about), but I've never seen it. You have: Thermotstatic fan clutches...

    iPhone app?

The tapatalk app simplifies the site (and any forum you're accessing via your phone) to adjust for the smaller screen. You do not get the signature lines, location, post #'s, join date, etc. All the important stuff is there, but the fluff is stripped out. See image below.

M38a1C picture of the day. In the news yesterday Still in Service

Well, it looks like Kia isn't just making M35, M816 and M715 replicas. This has brought a smile to my face.

    trouble searching

No clue on this one. If it were me, I'd start looking on the web for forums where people have discussed the rebuilding of water pumps on vintage vehicles that are obsolete. See if people are mentioning any kind of material that is used in the way the TM describes. More likely than not, one of...

Carter Carb Rebuid - Caswell refinishing Copy Cad

Very nice work and attention to detail. Thanks for taking the time to share. I always wanted to try this when I was in the Mopar hobby, but I had a friend who had an in for replating (phosphate, zinc, cad, etc.) so when I did a 100% job, I just bagged everything and sent it out.

Pricing for 5 ton center mount troop seats

I've never even seen a set in person (or the deuce center seats). They must be pretty uncommon. If I wanted a set, I'd try and make them out of a deuce set going by the TM pics.

    Weight of Deuce parts

No, our bare frame from the parts truck is still in the backyard. It takes me awhile to build up enough junk to justify a trip to the scrapyard. When I go, if there's a way to get them to weigh just the frame, I'll do it and post the results here. Sorry.

    Installing instruments!!!

Correct-the spider harness is all circuit #27, which provides the power for the electrical gauges, so it should go to the temp, oil pressure, voltmeter and fuel level. The air pressure gauge is mechanical, as well as the tach and speedo so they don't require power. Some of the gauges are...

    trouble searching

Ok, now that I am home: Alright, I have pretty much stopped using the on-site search mechanism, since it blows since the upgrade. I will use it if I know the author and a specific phrase from the post. So I am now searching the site using google. You can use google to search within a...

    M35 steering box seals?

No way I'd do that job without just going ahead and rebuilding it. The parts are cheap-Memphis has the rebuild kits and they sell them on a popular internet site.

swapping out a transfer case. suggestions?

If you have a cargo cover, it would need to be close to 11' high. The cheesy Harbor Freight gantry crane is wide enough to go across the cab, but it won't go across the bed. If you're going to buy a gantry, it needs to be wide enough to drive under. Also needs to be tall. Mine is not quite...
