Not sure about your state, but here in NC the towing vehicle does have the trailer "covered" on the insurance policy.
@Coug and @Action are both right about the U-Haul policy if something goes wrong. AND just know that if something happens - Lawyers will be lined up to do their best to take...

Even if you don't have her ready for the rally, come on over anyway. Get to know some of the folks in your area. Those events are generally a good place to find parts if you need something. Helps give you ideas on what you may want to do to your truck too.

Definitely looks like you got a nice truck! The furniture being there too is a big plus as well too. If you decide you want to build out a camping vehicle, I would suggest that you hang on to the furniture.
Sounds like you have a good plan. Check out the fuel tank and maybe next the fuel...

An awful lot like the first Chevy with a supercharger on it. Hot Rod driver with a blind spot that occupied about a quarter of the space in front and to the right of me. Pretty amazing that at seventeen I never had a crash because of it...
"Stuff" in your truck window could cause the same...

Head gasket alone and running for 5 minutes wouldn't make it shut down the motor. It may be that the PO (Previous Owner) cranked it and there was "gunk" in the fuel tank that got sucked into the injector pump. Might be worth a really bright flashlight in the tank to look down in there to see...

It looks like you have a really nice truck VBsurfer ! You'v already mentioned that you have some tech manuals. Be sure to grab the ones specific to your truck here.
Welcome to the outfit! Snap up a few pictures of the engine bay so we can know for sure what you have under the hood...

banditt1979 Make them do their job there at the department of motor vehicles... You have the real VIN stamped there on the frame. Don't add numbers to it and just stand there quietly - making them have to figure it out. Most have "Process and Procedures" guidelines and/or books. They just...

Curiosity thing... The fire departments and crash trucks in particular that are "armed" with AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) have discovered that the old material is bad for your health.
AFFF contains (contained) PFOS and PFOA. Those two groups hoave been found to be carcinogenic...

Gen 1 and Gen 2 are different (or should be different from a normal Chevy alternator). Both must have an Isolated Ground and that is pretty important. Picture attached
EDIT: Both Alternators are isolated ground and Both are the same. Thanks for the correction MarcusOReallyus

No joke... A set of GOOD safety Glasses.
I never will forget as a youngster when I dropped the jackshaft from between the transmission and the transfer case onto my face. Young and Dumb, I was wiggling a long screwdriver between the universal joint and the flange that it bolted to...
