Having an old Air Force Missile Alert Facility to take something to sounds like LOADS of fun! I have seen tons of videos of folks buying one and turning it into a home. Might be able to kiss your own backside goodbye if there is ever a "civil disturbance" with nukes on the other side of the...

Just be careful... Make it too difficult to remove the plug - and these weasels will just poke a hole in the bottom of your tank - get the fuel they can carry, and let the rest dump out on the ground.
Kinda like a lock on a door if the vehicle has a rag top...

I am using several of the kits that @98G sold in the SS Parts For Sale section for my trucks.
These are first class boxes and cables. They work really well and were reasonably priced too!

Cant' swear to it, but I believe most trucks have some "m number" piece that is the turret base.
Even in more modern days, each truck seems to have a different turret.
Possibly measure yours and post it here. From outside edge to edge.
Some of us have stuff that we could measure and...

If you need a bonnet and can't find one, I would suggest that a Boat Cover manufacturer could easily create something that could be tied on. Gotta assume (know what happens when you assume!?) that there is a lip that sticks up above the deck of the roof that you could tie to... For a little...

Most hydraulic hose that I have seen on Military wreckers have JIC fittings on them. And there are "skive" type connectors so you can (more or less) screw them onto the new rubber hose. BE SURE that you get real hydraulic hose that is hose inside of a wire braid and should be rated at 3000#...
So maybe I am mean, but I wouldn't miss a wink of sleep if some "so-and-so" got burned up in an explosion if "it" drilled one of my gas tanks.
Diesel is a little harder to ignite with a drill, but I remember last time fuel prices skyrocketed, drilling was a regular thing. The problem then...

I have not read the electrical code book in more than 40 years, so I am not the "guy with the ultimate answer" but my guess is that manual step - where you disconnect from the grid - then start your generator is where there is concern. Backfeeding into the grid is what ends up killing...
One item worthy of consideration is your need to disconnect the supply service - from the meter side - so that you aren't powering the entire grid with the power that you are generating. You don't want to electrocute the local power provider's employees as they attempt to rebuild the failed...

Welcome to the Outfit! (as an official member now) :)
We do have a Mog section, so we definitely need pictures of your new-to-you truck! Show us what you got when you get it - or picture the recovery when you fetch it!
Again, welcome from the other side of the country!
