I have one like it I got from Redstone last year. It has a steerable axle up front and the same size tires and rims as the M37 type vehicles. The interior is similar so it may be from the same system as the one I have.
If there is no winter front on the truck you can (as mentioned above) block off part of the radiator with a thin piece of paneling or cardboard (not ideal if it gets wet and melts into the radiator). If you do this keep a close eye on the temp gage and adjust how much of the radiator you block...
Since deuces are creeping up in value while M900 series 5 tons are decreasing I'd ask 5K and negotiate from there. You might want to see what they are averaging on ebay.
I talked to rbeasley today....he's headed up this way next month and is going to drop them off when he goes through north GA. He should be contacting you about them.
I am organizing an "Alternative Fuel Event" to be held in Gadsden, AL at the end of March or early April. The center of attention will be woodgas powered vehicles but there will be Military Vehicles there as well. Some will be multi-fuels running on alternative fuel some will be stock. All will...
The 8.3 Cummins has an electric fuel solonoid that de-energizes and if it does the truck will not start. Said invention of the devil is on top of the injector pump and has a silver teat sticking out of it. To reset it rotate the lever until it pushes the teat back up into the housing. You will...
If you don't mind reaching down to the floor a big roll of duct tape will accomodate the "Mikey D Sweet Tea" sized styrofoam cup just fine.
I guess you could set it on the seat too but it might slide off depending on how sticky the side of the roll of tape is.
I had some of the plastic holders...
No prob Woody....you saved my bacon on two occasions and I appreciate it.
Hope all is well with the new job and that the new year treats you good.
When you get a break bring your dusty butt over to the Boss Lady's farm and see my new fish pond.
Having a plow on a truck like that (long wheel base and no power steering) could be one of the reasons he's selling it.
If it is an M36 and is not rusted to sheet from road salt that is a steal. Buy it before he changes his mind.
The M36's are somewhat rare birds.......I had one and sold it to SCSG-G4 (Mike) who put a shelter on back of it.
If you can get it for a reasonable price I'd jump on it even if it has a Sprage transfer case.......they can be swapped out if you have the mechanical ability.
That trailer is heavy....it is actually a powered unit with live axles and a driveline. You could pull it with a five ton if you have the tow attachment but the 5 ton won't like it. The air and electrical connections are quick disconnects so you will have to fab some electical cables and air lines.
To all concerned......I am considering hosting an "Alternative Fuel Event" in March to showcase woodgas and other fuel options should we have an interruption of the fossil fuel supply. If I can get enough folks interested I'd like to have someone with a deuce running on WMO/WVO etc. I'll post...
You're a mean old man Mister!!!!!!:-P
It was a deuce.....the 5 ton just had a smidge of thinner in it from the fuel can I used to transfer "Deuce Juice".
