    Cross Country in an M820

My impressions, spread out over a bunch of these trucks 939series, 809series and M44series....total of maybe 50,000 miles. Regarding ride smoothness, they vary. Every truck is different. I drove an M931A2 from Indianapolis to Waco TX by way of Columbus OH. I didn't notice it being any better...

    Cross Country in an M820

Looks like the seats in mine... Good seating only goes so far. The energy still has to go somewhere. I suggest you try out the seats in it before contemplating replacement/upgrade. The long wheelbase should help some. My experience has been that the taller tires also help some. I attribute...

    Cross Country in an M820

The truck will try it's level best to beat you to death. If you've never ridden in one, it's beyond my ability to describe.... Your dad is 75 or so? Riding across country is a real risk of compression fractures in the vertebra. I really don't recommend it for him...

Any info on states issuing titles for hmmwvs?

I've heard from several people who talked to DMV prior to purchase and were told no problem. When they came back they were told just no. So talking to DMV prior is no guarantee you'll get the same answer when you come back...

    I overshot neutral into Reverse

Be aware, if your shifter is working correctly it won't allow this. You can shift from lower forward hears to higher forward gears, but it won't let you go past N until you mash the button.

Suboptimal. Lindsey97 has a transmission new in the can....

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Now that I have a functional door handle, I took the doors off and drove it to sonic. The rusted brushguard, headlight bezels, and other assorted tan nastiness is bothering me. So I took the brushguard and headlight bezels off and got after them with a powered wire brush. Then I painted them...

Possible solution for dreaded engine stall when brakes are locked up.

Not all of them got it. There's a scant few that didnt. I've seen several go through auction without it.

    New to me Humvee

That headlight pulsing and volt meter swing is electrical load caused by afterglow on the glowplugs, as an aid to keeping it running until it gets warm. Feature, not bug. :)

    Modest reliable upgrades for NHC-250?

Dare i say it? TRASH TRUCK :) Back on topic - dual fuel and call it done. Anything else has excessive risk.

Buying my first "big" truck - M925A1...

That's an M925A0. Trivial difference. Looks decent. Drop the driveshaft on the M1009. Got lights?

    New to me Humvee

Does it have reset tags on it? Looks like a nice truck. I'm biased, but I like the 2man pickup variant.
