Anyone know where I can find this hood and scoop?

Judging from the oil stains under one of those two civilian H1’s, a piss poor mechanic shoppe.

    I bought a 1998 Plan B M998 yesterday

Holy Resurrection, Batman. OP joined 2017 and Last seen December 22, 2018. I would send a PM and hope he had it linked to his E-mail and hope he still uses that E-mail.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

There is an old thread about how to do something like this by opening up and gutting the military flasher unit and soldering in a civvy unit in order to keep your rig looking OEM. Either way, nice work!

    LED Pushbutton Switch Install

Clueless new owner or not, I won't forget his video about the LED light switch anytime soon. I appreciate his posting this video, but the video was strange. Who videos his rig burning? I for one might have concentrated less on camera work and more upon getting a fire extinguisher from my...

    LED Pushbutton Switch Install

Watching that thing go up in smoke was humbling. My spare LED control box or whatever it is called will go on the auction site this weekend. Great video! Thanks! T

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I recall a post regarding how to advance the timing and I recall it saying that after a while these systems get so sloppy that there is no exact science.

I'm referring to his comment "Plugs in tomorrow". Best, T

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

If you let this sit without plugs, I hope you blocked the holes with painter’s tape. Dust or water gets in and you will have a problem. Stuff like this should never just sit open and should probably be finished at the same time as old part removal.

A new rebuild going bad is suspicious. I would magnaflux or UV dye the heads and the block. You might have a crack. Before pulling the heads, run EGT's to ensure temps are not too high. You sure fuel injector system not advanced on this fresh rebuild? That would elevate EGT's and cause...

Utah HMMWV recovery, Helmet Hard top install, and build.

Hey Cam.... Did your tires explode before or after you made it to the liquor store on your beer run? Just wondering if your tires were ok BUT you pulled a "Harvey Wallbanger". (LOL) ;) Old rubber is not predictable. Tire pressure also figures into that... Just ask FoMoCo after their SUV's...

Utah HMMWV recovery, Helmet Hard top install, and build.

Goodyear posted and even GovPlanet comments upon tire cracking and risk of failure. Only one way to assure tire quality. Buy 'em new. No amount of hand holding and guessing by forum members will be able to predict your future with those tires.

    Modify and build my m998

That will be a heck of a lot of cutting and aligning and welding.

    Cooling issue: "overcooling"

I don't understand... Are you complaining that you don't have a problem with overheating? In the Winter you want a minimum temperature, but I've never heard anyone complain that their engine and radiator worked so well that they are worried. If your minimum temperature is OK, that means your...

    Tires other than Military MTRs

I would never buy a tire that comes without a warranty. So far my HMMWV's shoes are good, but when I start longer drives I will have choices to make.

Questions about the Electronic Speedometer and Voltage Regulator

Who needs a speedo? Who needs lenses? Ride ninety miles an hour as long as you got the almighty power sittin’ on the dashboard of your car. LOL.

    Tires other than Military MTRs

The bead on these rims is at an angle and is short and without a bead lock you run the risk of the tire disengaging from the bead/rim. I am told that because of the short area of engagement at the bead on the 16.5 inch rims, it would be a real risk to run 17 inch tires and it is not recommended.

    Wiper Extension

Those things sell for a few bucks on eBay. I seem to recall around 40 or $50 for the pair. You guys might all want to consider selling those pieces. It’s a tight economy and every little dollar helps. Stay healthy guys. T

Absolutely. Maybe even it’s own vehicle specific section under restoration and paint forum.
