Rear fender condenser to Red Dot install thread

I was asked for some pictures of how the evaporator unit fits in the cab, so here they are. View from looking in passenger side door. slightly blurry picure from above driver's side dash Tried a panorama shot, not the best camera. from outside driver's door From directly in front of my face...

I appreciate the thought, but I don't drink alcohol so if we can turn that into a ginger ale or hot cocoa depending on weather I'll gladly accept.

MEP-803a IEC Receptacle - Stupid or GTG?

    1) 208 3 phase will just put 120 to each leg same as 120/240, but will only see 208V instead of 220/240. Most equipment is somewhat forgiving, you're still within 10% of 230 (240V can actually be anywhere between 220-240). Shouldn't cause any issues but your 240 equipment might try drawing a...

Lots of Rain in TX lately

yup, not an exact science. Just anything stiff and flat that won't break if it gets a little weight on it. if using wood I'd recommend something like 1/4" plywood of a decent quality, then paint it to keep it from rotting. Bonus to adding something like this is you can attach things to it...

    DWF kit Sensor cup

on my M1123 (2009 rebuild) it's just behind the passenger side wheel well on the outside of the frame. There is a bracket from the Marine Armor Kit that was left on my truck directly in front of it.

Lots of Rain in TX lately

I'm running in 2 man setup, the sheet I had was 5 feet long, then just cut to the width needed to fit from windshield to B pillar, then about 1 or 2 inches less. It's held in place by the velcro straps going through it on the support bar and the weight/friction from the top itself.

plywood sheet or hard plastic between the tarp and the bows. I'm using a sheet of 1/8" fiber reinforced plastic for mine with holes cut out wherever the straps hold it to the bows.

    AM General parts website

Just got another email from them. I had answered a couple questions about how I found the site and stuff like that. The response I got was thanking me, and telling me I'm one of the first people to order through the site so he was keeping an eye on my order to make sure everything got shipped...

    AM General parts website

So just found out last night when searching for parts that AM General has their own parts website up and running. I placed my order, and this morning I received an email from them asking how I found out about their website as they haven't advertised it yet, and if I was part of a government...

Rear fender condenser to Red Dot install thread

Engine is a GEP that was rebuilt and installed in the truck in 2009, so likely only one decade old. with as much movement as there is, I figure it's probably one of the larger pulleys. Haven't put a dial indicator on any of them (i think I have one somewhere, but haven't used it in 5 or more...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Viofo A129 Pro 4k with GPS. Used the hardwire kit they also sell to enable parking mode. Somehow managed to get it on sale from the Viofo website for 20% off, so was $40 cheaper than amazon, but shipped from Hong Kong. It's wired with the ground to the battery cut off next to the driver's...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

replaced the serpentine belt to get rid of belt squeal. Belt is working a lot harder now that the aircon is working. Put the BEOD back on now that the graduation parades are all finished and I'm not driving future soldiers through them. Installing a dash camera wired so it can still record...

Rear fender condenser to Red Dot install thread

So removed the serpentine belt, reinstalled it the opposite direction. The squeal went from being a chirp whenever the belt was under load from the generator or aircon compressor, to being non stop squealing. Belt dressing or soapy water made the sound disappear for a few seconds is all. Belt...

MEP-803a IEC Receptacle - Stupid or GTG?

If your hands are that much of an issue, then you might just do the 5 pin connector out of the generator then make an adapter to go to your different things. Daybreak already said it, but I'll say it again because I forgot to read every post before writing this one and only remembered his after...

Rear fender condenser to Red Dot install thread

So finally finished up everything today. Without pulling the tub off the chassis it's kind of hard to get to where things should be run under there, and I think in reality running hard lines would be a lot better (at least underneath) than the rubber lines, bit I did what seemed like a halfway...

Check ebay for them. Quick search showed new HBL5100R9W in the $200-300 range, and used ones down around $100.

only if you put the transfer case in lock. Not really recommended unless you have no other options, but it will drive like that.

Deep Water Fording Exhaust Pipe, shorter version to fit in garage?

I don't remember where I got these from, someone saw a truck on a flatbed at a rest stop and took some pictures. Don't know if it was someone's personal rig being hauled, or just being shipped. (doesn't look properly tied down for transport to me, I would expect another set of chains at the...
