I have also noticed that the bolt patern for the crankshaft flywheel is different between the M-37 and the civy engine so dont go mixing them up.
Your old engine that came out of it, just the 3 cylinders and a cracked manifold is all thats wrong???? Rebuild it. You would be suprised on...
The 94th Aero Squadron was WW1 and was in St. Pete. I think the "Tipper" you were refering to was in West Palm and I cant remember what unit it was. It was either the 95th BG or the 98th BG. One or the other was in West Palm and the other was in Ft Lauderdale. Yea that CCKW was...
Yep a bad day for sure, 2 flats and she may leak a bit of fuel....... BUT what would worry me is the hole that is dead center at the star on the door!!!! I would hope that the added door armor went all the way to the bottom.
$5.85 a Gal for 100LL does not hold well..........not much proffit being made there when it comes to keeping her in the air. I hope they get a good turn out with those who can afford. This is the 1st time that the CAF is taking riders in the B-29. I hope to go some day.

There is one of these sitting in a field about 3 mi from me........I have OFTEN thought about finding who owns it. She has been sitting there for going on 8 yrs!
One more correction. The mult-fuel 5 ton cargo's were also direct drive from the factory. Only the Macks had the overdrive transmission.
Scrap the idea on the multifuel 5 ton motor in the M-62. from 2 mi to the gal of gas to maybe 5 in diesel with LESS HP and torque.......not worth the...
Yes, the mechanic died the year prior to the flyout attempt. Yes it was very sad that the engines and props were not salvaged as they were new overhauls. I dont even know if her orig engines were removed from the site. I do know they were changed for the flight out. Our friend got a...
Forgot to add, the mechanic who died , I believe got sick from pseumonia that was untreated. He died early in the project and did not live to see her burn.
