    Can this be moved?

. Depends on how high you want that hose to be. I have seen them on the back of the cab. I have seen them pushed up and into the cab. I have also seen breathers like that tube on the back of your intake tube pushed up and attached to the firewall (under the hood). I can only guess, but...

    CUCV Camo Paint Pattern

. It is incredibly OLD FASHIONED but the old overhead projector - something like was used in grade school - is a good way to push the outlines to the truck. The TM that shows you how to paint the shapes with a projector makes the job simple. YouTube and searching will give you samples. Not...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

. Gotta sometimes work a little red neck magic...

    1998 humvee drivetrain storage question

. Yes Sir. Here in North Carolina the same thing happens here. Everything has to be drained for the vehicles to be crushed too. The local "pull your own part" places locally have the gas tanks removed and fluids removed too to satisfy EPA requirements. Otherwise the ground would be...

    1998 humvee drivetrain storage question

. Sad, but the military is getting rid of the vehicle. Adding a preservative would cost money and they don't care IMO. Maybe it has something to do with a "piece of paper process" that is similar to what happens in airplanes in the military bone yards. We could consider it good fortune that...

    Dual mounting a 802A and 803A on a M116A3 trailer

. I know it isn't really funny - but I agree! My version of spotting is to back up real slow. Get out, look, adjust, do it again. Yeah, it can tire you out getting in and out - but a block or a 2x4 or something on the ground is a good reference point. Much easier than having a spotter that...

Bringing back to life a 2009 HMMWV M1165A1 from GovPlanet - total newbie, please help...

. Neat idea!! Seems like monitoring both batteries independently is a smart plan too.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

. The pool noodle or the cardboard suggestion from rcamacho are both functional fixes. Cardboard on a CUCV or old Chevy truck has been my solution for a lot of years...

What have you done to your JEEP today

. Yep. In the days of old I carried a spare condenser, set of points and a few other things in the glove box of an old 67 Camaro. They bailed me out of a mess more times than one!

MD NEW to LMTV, advice on registration/insurance in MD

. State Farm will insure it here in North Carolina for sure. What they do is insure it on a commercial policy only because their computer won't do it any other way. No license requirements. They just need proof of you and where you live - like a water bill, a light bill and a copy of your...

    GOVPLANET/USMC latest EUC times?

. Fuel cost is way up! Supply and Demand is another part of shipping at the moment as well. Lots of drivers now have a choice between a load that will barely cover costs and another that has more value. Guess which one gets picked up or delivered first? The "Talking Heads" have been spewing...

Inflating tube tires with lock ring wheels

. A little fear will make you smarter - or maybe stated differently: Respect for a potential catastrophe is healthy! Hopefully it will make you THINK before you ACT. OR maybe you buy those services that could be hazardous to your health. .

    CUCV 383 Green Paint

. I still say that with that paint gun, you have done amazing work!

What have you done WITH your FMTV ( trips, Rescues etc) NOT: fixes, updates etc

. That would be my guess. Seems that government in your business always seems to flow from the west coast in this general direction.

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

. I like the toolbox! Big enough to have enough stuff in it to handle a problem if the need arises. Those No Sail flaps will be perfect too...

    CUCV 383 Green Paint

. Not even got the tape off it yet - and it is looking really nice!

Inflating tube tires with lock ring wheels

. Yes Sir Ajax MD , That is indeed the magic tool. When it is dented, scuffed and looks like it has been dragged down the highway behind your truck for several miles - it can be considered "broken in" and has some "character".

    CTIS Troubleshooting Question

. Sounds familiar. These trucks definitely seem happiest when they are used regularly. Sitting seems to kill things for no good reason... Glad to hear that you have easy access to shop air. That will help for sure and hopefully a few rubber parts will make it happy again. There were "hacks"...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

. Yes sir. I cannot quite understand how that is acceptable behavior - and how the law isn't being enforced. Guess that is enough about it, but like other comments: That isn't how most of us were raised...
