The battery leads connect to a couple of large copper buttons inside the starter and as the starter actuates they tend to sputter copper inside the solenoid housing. If bit of that got into the wrong place they'll cause the starter to draw current. You can also get carbon from the arcing that...
Ralph, your post says you disconnected the starter and it's still drawing power. This test eliminates the starter as the source of the power load. Now disconnect the large 8 gauge wire to the alternator stud (under the cover). This applies to the 60 amp alternator. This test will determine...
When Cincinnati Electronics shut down their production line in Mexico I bought everything they had left in process, including all of the ICs for the '34. The Harris chips are a common failure and as far as I know aren't available anywhere else. I also have full schematics for the boards. The...
Just a thought but have you checked the connections on the starter switch? There's a heavy lead from the batteries to that switch and then it gets distributed from there. Maybe corrosion or a loose connection?

This is actually a fairly common problem. There is a small right angle adapter on the transfer case that's part of the speedo drive system that sometimes loosens up during use and there's a short (~2") piece of speedometer cable that connects it to the trans. When this happens that cable...

The extra ground wire on the push button switch was for the HMMWV who's body is such a piss poor return path to ground. It needed to have the switch electrically bonded to the ground system so that added a wire that physically attached it directly to that system..I have a push...
There should also be quite a few HMMWV troop seat sets out there that people have removed to build 4 man trucks that could be available pretty cheap.

The mounts and adapters are around but most of the adapters that the radio sits in are missing the baseplate and the 200 volt power supply for the RF amp. Just a heads up. Here's what the setup looks like complete:

That rack will support either a single or double stack Sincgars radio with the vehicular adapter. It looks like it had a double stack in it's prior life because of the 2 LS-671 speakers beneath it.

The push button light switch looks pretty cool but after having one in the HMMWV for the last 4 years I can tell you I'd never install another one. I've had no electrical problems of fires but to operate the d**n thing you have to look at it to make sure your hitting the right switch so if your...
O rings cost about $4 or less, are you willing to risk your vehicle for $4? I've reused O rings in the past when I had to but for cost it doesn't make sense not to install new ones when doing wheel work.

I'm looking for a set of sideboards and bows to finish off an M101A3 trailer. Does anyone on the list have anything available? Preferably on the left side of the country.
thanks,
Kurt
I think the "dinosaur" your thinking of was the SB-86. A pretty large shipping case that the switchboard used to sit on during use. I checked my ETMs and the telephone equipment CD is too new and doesn't have anything for the 3614 but I do have some hardcopy manuals in the garage that I can...
