Understood and thanks. I will go with A since that best describes the system I have already. If still NG, then I will try a length of the Cat 5 cable, that's a good idea for ready-made, I used to twist wires with a drill. I added to my post later, so that's why it did not appear. You missed...
Sorry, my post formatting still is not permitting paragraph spacing. It looks nice and spaced when I type it here in this draft box, and then when I hit "post reply", it all gets jammed together. Ugh.....
Looks really handy in that you can attach a hose to the end, vs guessing where the arc of the oil drain geyser is going to hit at first, and then moving as it drains and slows down. To keep clean is fabulous, like sucking the oil out through the dip stick on my inboard boat (only way to do it...
I just ran a straight harness I crafted up, no built in termination resistors. I hope you are onto something, and it seems so. It tries really hard to connect when I choose one way (takes a long time to finally deny), vs the other protocol, so it seems like it wants to at least. I forgot...
Will, I think the Cummins Fleetguard coolant is red. Are you saying not to buy this? I'm slightly confused. Is this similar to the GM Dex-Cool sludge up situation?
Correct and yes. There is an option to chose, and I have tried all. I believe the transceiver was only used for development of the module, and then was taken out as cost save as not needed. That is how we do ECU's at work, same thing.
I should have studied closely if there was connectivity...
The pins is what guided me down this path. I saw the vehicle side harness connector had several terminal missing, yet the controller had all terminals present, so I initially thought this was just a walk in the park, especially when I pinned it out and the missing terminals on the vehicle side...
We scrapped out a 24V walk-behind type forklift at work due to battery age, so I swiped the hydro pump and tank. Nice units, made for continuous run. With this, I ordered a hydraulic valve with built in switches, so I can just push the control lever up or down and it will turn on the pump and...
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?147307-M939-CTIS-Reprogram-Anybody-Done-It I am going to next try and FMTV controller on my 925A2. Seems to be the same except upside down button labeling, and supposedly has the transceiver board which allows a field reprogram of target tire...
I bought both sides of the CTIS connector and made a wye ("Y") cable. I downloaded and installed the free Dana diagnostic software. I also then purchased the required $800 interface rp210a adapter. Hooked it all up, confirmed communication with adapter, but could not communicate with the...
Just wanted to give an update for the serpentine belt tensioner for the Cummins 8.3 engine. I used Cummins Quickserve with my engine serial number, and it called for p/n 3911621. So, I ordered it through my local Cummins dealer. I was presented with p/n 5333478, at a cost of $82. It is a...
He had to have had a gauge, otherwise how could he know it was 1400-1600F range? A gauge won't keep it below 1250F unless your foot is synchronized with it (once you increase the fuel rate).
Yes, conventional heater hose is fine. Look up SCA's regarding diesel coolant. It is pertinent to wet liner engines, and degrades over time. NAPA and all heavy truck dealers will carry SCA enriched coolant. You can also get SCA enriched coolant filters if you are adding a filter. Done...
I know this is not what most agree with, but when this happens and you have bled air from all the places you can, we have shot a stream of ether down its throat, and it takes off running and is fine after. Not sure why, by sometimes just cranking by itself cannot seemingly overcome a small air...
