Tie rod ends & drag link

I don't remember if they're the same, but you'll see them everywhere (ebay, various jeep parts suppliers, etc.). Make sure you aren't buying the cheap stuff-Moog still makes all this stuff for the A1. That's what you want.

M54 wikipedia page. Anyone notice anything amiss?

Wikipedia is very good on some stuff, terrible on others.................. and unfortunately, the only way to know which it is is to be an expert on the subject and most experts aren't reading wikipedia............. That's why no one credibly cites Wikipedia in any kind of debate, presentation...

    Weight of Deuce parts

What does a bare frame weigh? I need to know so I can price this.

    winch drive shaft

So I got some time to mess with this today, after I finished parting out one of our parts trucks (http://www.steelsoldiers.com/conversations/87435-lot-work.html). I had pulled the front bumper off to put the tan bumper back on and I figured as long as I was doing this, I'd loosen up all the...

    Extended height M44 pedals

I have since seen these extended height pedals on an '88 USAF A2C and several other of the '87-'89 contract trucks. I would say I've seen 7 or 8 trucks with the tall pedals. I am going to go out on a limb and say this is a feature most if not all these trucks had.

Do the Gov Liq vehicle ratings mean anything?

Condition codes, like most topics, have been covered in great depth in the past. Search is your friend! http://www.steelsoldiers.com/trailers/71240-difference-between-condition-h7-f7.html http://www.steelsoldiers.com/general-gl-questions/23811-condition-codes.html...

Fair price for having a radiator recored

I am typically paying between $3-400 to have them recored. That's for normal, passenger car sized stuff (like what you have. Deuces would be more). I guess it depends how high quality the new one is. My shop does pretty good work, so I'd consider a recored unit to be higher quality than the...

    M35A2 Recovery

    1. You greased the input bearing retainer that the throwout bearing slides on, not the bearing itself. The bearing is sealed and non-serviceable. 2. Truck looks nice and has nice accessories (ring/cover/etc.) but a dead tranny AND a sprag would really cause me to offer a lowball figure. 3...

    Bumper ID for a Deuce

Those are for the GMC 135/211 "Jimmy" series of deuces. Rare find, but it won't work for the M44 series.

Naive question...What do you do with your Deuce?

One of the best things you can do as a newb is to set aside an hour or so each evening for the next few weeks and simply begin reading threads in the deuce forum starting at page 1. I did this when I joined-it took me several weeks to get up to speed. But in doing so, you'll learn a lot-the...

    Torque rod/dogbone mod and removal

I bought 2 wedges at Northern, a short and a long. Only used the long. As doghead said, most of the dogbones came out by just tapping them. The two uppers required the wedges.
