Getting mounted-where do you mount yours?

Quite a few threads have covered antenna mount placement: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/67356-radio-antennia-location.html http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce-modification-hot-rodding/21724-deuce-antenna-mount.html http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/59743-military-antenna-deuce.html...

    Cookout at Zout's

Much thanks to Zout and Deb for another epic cookout. We had a great time (Dad, clintogf, Brian, me). The food was awesome, the entire event was well planned and organized. It was great to see so many of our friends again (most we haven't seen since 11SSGR) and meet new friends. Got to see...

    New(to me) tools

That is super nice Gimp. I'm suitably envious. I've worked for years gathering all the stuff I needed to do mechanical work-suspension / brake stuff, glass bead cabinet, etc. Finally got a nice welder and a good torch set (Miller 175 / Victor journeyman) and now I find myself looking at all...

    Newbie from AZ

Depends how you define "mechanic": If you mean "able to earn a reasonable living working on vehicles" then yes, you can own a vehicle without being a professional. But if you mean "able to fix my own stuff, albeit slowly and with some assistance from the internet/TM's, etc." then no, I'd say...

My M35A2 Project aka Big Betty

Step 1. Turn it up until it melts a piston/headgasket. Step 2. Turn it down 1 flat. Step 3. Tow it over here and we'll fix it. Step 4. Profit!

OK did a search front axle seal #

As long as we're talking about the inner, that presses into the disk, which presses into the housing: According to jatonka, it's a CR 16842. See: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/18038-m35-front-axle-seal-replacement.html (post #1) All the ones I've done I've gotten from Erik's. His are...

I just had to give it that extra 1/4 turn

If you can't get the remnants of the brake light switch out, I think I have a spare end piece out of a parts airpack.

Need help identifying air line M35A2

I rebuilt an airpack that had been together so long when the nut came off, it twisted the pipe inside. Had a local shop bend me another one in the correct material, $20, voila.

    deuce hyd power steering

Tom, I gotta tell you, many folks appreciate what you are doing in your "spare" time, even if they can't afford to take advantage of it. I speak as someone with a lot of mechanical skills and experience-I've built multiple engines, transmissions, differentials, suspension, brakes, you name it...

    We need a unified voice

Several issues: I think the MVPA might want to deal with issues like this, but are simply unable. I know when all the Demil B & Q stuff got pulled a couple years ago, I spoke with several Officers in the MVPA and they told me they had a lobbyist and an attorney. They probably don't have these...

Also keep in mind there are (at least) 2 different bracket setups-one with an upper and lower bracket and one with upper brackets and small u-bolts retaining the tanks.
