    wreckers?

The HEMMT wrecker is the M984. There might be an M984A1 and M984A2 or something...but the M984 is the base wrecker.

    m925 a2 series etc

Yes, the M809 series trucks came with lockers, but only the USMC variants. If you see a truck with 1400 X 20 super singles, it might be a USMC truck (unless the owner singled it out). If they have lockers in them, there should be a dataplate on the driver's door or on the dash saying that...

    New "in the can" motor

RE: New in the can motor With regard to spares, I used to horde everything I could find. One day, I realized that I had literally thousands and thousands of dollars of all sorts of parts...wiper motors, windshields, cab tops, cargo covers, cab frame assemblies, hoods, doors, fenders, bows...

Junker to Jewel pics - diamond in the rough...

What about this M925A2? When I got it, it had no motor, transmission, steering column, gauges, cab top, troop seats, CTIS, etc.

    New "in the can" motor

RE: Re: RE: New "in the can" motor CLINTO: If you are correct, which I think you are, many people will leave the hobby because they don't have the money to pay someone to do these repairs/rebuilds and/or don't have the knowledge to do it themselves.

    New "in the can" motor

RE: Re: RE: New "in the can" motor CLINTO: You made a great point! I keep wondering when parts availability will dry up on things we take for granted like GMA soft tops (why would they keep making them after the trucks are out of the system), wiper motors, windshields, fresh tires (for a...

    m925 a2 series etc

Mike, thanks for the compliment. Sometimes, I am not very smart and I part with some of the nicer ones! I really regret selling the M928A1 and an M817 that I used to own...two really nice trucks. I suppose you can't keep everything!

GL ads disappeared...did I miss something?

I have noticed for a few days (possibly longer) that the GL ads no longer appear in the top left hand corner of the screen. Did GL pull their ads?

    m925 a2 series etc

Chris: I actually owned an M928A1...USMC variant with the fording kit, lockers and a winch. It is the only one I have ever seen. I bought it from Winslow and like an idiot I traded it back to him some years later.

    m925 a2 series etc

Great point, Jason. Things like some of the air intake and exhaust parts are specific only to an M939A2. You almost have to know someone who has a residue A2.

    m925 a2 series etc

There is no way to compare an M915 and an M939 series truck. The M915 is basically an over-the-road truck that the military adopted and the M939 is a tactical truck. The M939 series was never designed to haul heavy loads on the road. I read some place that they were designed to spend about...

    New "in the can" motor

RE: Re: RE: New "in the can" motor Make sure it is actually new and not the motor that they took out. A friend recently bought a super clean NHC250 motor that was presented as rebuilt. He found out that the internals were trashed soon after its install so it was removed. Be careful unless...

    My take on the M35A3

I really never liked them either. I figured I'd end up with one eventually, but I was not interested in paying the going prices. I happened to get one for a good deal. After seeing it up close and crawling around underneath and on top of the truck, I like it more and more. The trucks drives...

    m925 a2 series etc

I think that Craig's truck is an M925 with winch.

A little Smoke under the hood

It could be coming from the bottom of the turbo. There should be a hose to take those exhaust gases down to axle level.

    smoking

Blown head gasket possibly... How long was the truck running and was it smoking the whole time?

    My "new" M931A1 project truck.

Rick, you are in luck...Chris just happens to be selling this one!

    m925 a2 series etc

RE: Re: RE: m925 a2 series etc Mike, those trucks in ME are not A2s. There is a big difference. This guy wants to find an M925A2. While I love all of the M939 series trucks, the A2s are a different beast altogether. I suppose it depends upon the truck and the motor, but my experience is...

    My take on the M35A3

That makes sense since the motor was turning 2,500 RPM at 50 MPH. That's a bit fast in the RPM department for my liking, but the manual says that the motor should not be rev'ed over 2,700.

    m925 a2 series etc

    I stand corrected, Sir!
