Read up in Section 6-2 code reading. There are no fault scenarios that only allow reverse shifting. Very very likely the keypad is defective. Simple fix. You have WTEC III control system.
M818s were used with 172s all day long in the military. Some 172s even have a data plate covering max GVWR when towed with a 5 ton tractor. The brakes are completely compatible.
Welcome, glad you decided to start posting now. My personal preference would be to do away with the metal shell connectors and go with the current set up for which parts are super easy to come by. I use Erik’s for this. Good luck.
The injection pump has a lot of plastic parts inside which do not have infinite life. Personally after 10 years after overhaul I expect the pump to leave me on the side of the road.
You are asking to grind the teeth off your flywheel or starter gear. Just sit there with your thumb over the alarm like the rest of us and monitor the gauges and listen for knocking. I am not trying to be a smart ass even though this post may come off that way.
Suggest you pay for an inexpensive membership here which will allow you to post a free classified ad. Ad needs a price, condition, lots of pictures, and what you are willing to do to assist the buyer with shipping.
If you need 100 of these you will need to contact a fabricaator. Nobody will have that many. Determine the original manufacturer from the NSN data and see if they still have tooling to make more. These have been out of production since around 2005 when the cab went to armored.
It’s a 1970 model from the data plate. As long as it’s not rusted through all over I would not rule it out. Read the threads here, people have brand new wheel cylinders, axle seals etc fail on them so you are not escaping tons of maintenance by buying a running truck.
Nope. Those are USMC 151's, and (time warp) they are stuck somewhere in strategic reserve, much like the HMMWVs coming out from USMC at this time. C/C is condition code and the A821 could be a code for the storage location.
