APPLAUSE !!! Great little entertaining video.
IS that bus being evicted from your property or a new acquisition?? Looks like ti "ripe for burial" and redneck conversion into a storm-cellar.
What are you intentions, Soldier?
Carry on.
OK, I'll chime in here too.
Thank God you still have all your digits.
Since you're a self-admitted "new guy" i'll echo the whole "get to know your vehicle by reading the TMs" advice.
With that said....
Welcome aboard :-D Find a bunk, stow your gear, and prepare to get underway :driver...
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, could you please post a copy of the pic you're going to post?
Something about the angle, lens used, background, season of the year, etc. would really fuel our creativity and make the appropriate words flow from our fingertips.
Thank you.
Carry on.
This's isn't exactly the LOW FLYING that this thread is all about, but it surely IS an unusual take-off.
So....
Just how do you get a float plane to fly off a concrete runway ?!?!?

I also applaud the photo of the folded US Flag on the front bumper of the Deuce.
As a respectful display for a static photo, I agree it's tasteful.
However, the US FLAG CODE is the "law of the land" regarding the use and display of our national banner.
I should also add that as a relatively...
In this instance, does "moved" or "operated" imply DRIVEN from the auction site? OR is it inclusive of other forms of removal and assertion of new ownership such as TOWED, HAULED, AIRLIFTED, TELEPORTED or BEAMED, etc.?
Thank you for clarification of the specificity of the LAW to which you refer.
Since no one else has yet chimed in..... Have you checked the troubleshooting procedures in the TM???
If not, please do so.
If still no "honky", then come back with specifics.
NOTE: TM's can be found in the 5-Ton and Up Forum top page.
I carry a 50-footer 'just in case'.
As for stowage, it's kept secure in the Deuce's toolbox. The XM-818 will also carry a 50-footer when she becomes operational even though she has glad hands fore and aft. Since both MVs are stored in our fenced backyard, I never have to move one should one...
:nothingfunny:
Therefore.... I'll speak my mind anyway.
note: the English language is so much fun to play with!
And with THAT being said....
When I first read the title of this thread I immediately thought: " The solution is OBVIOUS!"
IF, "Seized Up w/ Pictures", then simply QUIT TAKING...
Brandon,
First of all.....
Welcome aboard :-D Find a bunk, stow your gear, and prepare to get underway :driver:
OK, with that being said, let me show you around the website.
I would recommend that your first stop be the MEMBER MAP (see the button in the header of each SS page?) Using it...
Due to it's relative proximity to our LZ, I have often watched auctions at Holloman AFB and the adjacent White Sands Missile Test Range. NASA has had a long standing presence there and some very interesting MVs used by them have been auctioned complete with the classic NASA logos.
Holloman was...
Should we put a cap on the 5-Ton Forum to stop at 9.999-Tons?
Should we also limit this thread to 10-Ton ~ 19.999-Tons?
Should we then create yet another thread for 20-Ton & Up? Or should it also have an upper limit?
WHERE WILL IT END ?!?!?
Additional sub-threads for Green, Tan, Woodland Camo...
Life around here has been extraordinarily busy - bordering on crazy - lately and I have little time to work on our "yet to get running" recently acquired XM818 Semi-Tractor.
However, last evening, between an afternoon thundershower and sunset I was able to squeeze just a little time into...
TRAILER vs. SEMI-TRAILER
Technically speaking, a TRAILER is a towed vehicle which bears MOST of its own weight and the weight of its LOAD on it's own load-bearing axles. IE: a load "balanced" on one or more axles "centered" under the carriage - OR - as with M989 type Ammunition Trailers, an...
I pulled an XM-818 Tractor home (130 miles) behind an M35A2 Deuce using a Medium Tow Bar.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND this combination ! ! !
The HEAVIER 5-Ton wanted to push the tail end of the Deuce from side to side even thought he west Texas roads were all mostly straight and level. Even with about...
