Wrecker I.D. Help Please???? M62 or M543 maybe???

Spotted a Wrecker today and am trying to determining just what M-Series it is. Here are the two photos I have. . Unfortunately, these are the ONLY photos or for that matter the ONLY information I have about the truck. The possibilities I've considered are: M816 - NOPE, the Air Breather is...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Glad to see that the "argument" is cooling down here. i am reminded of a few noteworthy points. 1. The TITANIC was designed by engineers. (Take that however you'd like.) 2. We are all just a bunch of little kids in adult bodies trying to do the best that we can.... The playground (the SS...

    R.I.P--SHOOTINIRON--James Ruman

A somber reminder. Thank you for bumping this for those too new to the SS to remember. I pray his passing was not in vain, but a stark reminder that this hobby is actually serious, yes, life & death stuff. Be safe out there. Vaya con Dios ! (Go with God!)

    Name this Trailer ?

I too thought about playing the name game, but bit my tongue. Now that y'al have started, I simply cannot remain silent..... Some suggestions: Taylor the Trailer - OR - Omega (the end)

    HMMWV anti theft devices?

Parts can be stripped from any vehicle not adequately secured. Vandalism has not yet been mentioned, but is worth your consideration as well. I personally prefer the idea quoted above. Find a secure location. You can use the MEMBER MAP button in the tool bar at the top of every SS webpage to...

    Supplies for a Long Trip

Wolfgang, Our condolences to you and your family. I pray that the memories you carry will be precious and, in a sense, live on in a different yet similar loving tribute of a military vehicle. Each time you drive or tinker with your green iron remember those you have loved and lost. Blessings, John

    MV security

Weekend Security Detail..... It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it.... . . Pumpkin LOVES the XM-818's running board/step and the deck behind the cab. He's been missing the tool box since I removed it to access the fuel tank selector switch. It'll be reinstalled soon though.

    Weight of Deuce parts

WOW ! I agree. I doubt the Expedition's front wheels would have been on the ground with TWO of those suckers dangling from the back if my 500-600 estimate were accurate. Handling mine one leg at a time solo was sure a task. Sorry if I overestimated. I doubt I'll have any opportunity in the...

    Weight of Deuce parts

Not to hijack this thread, but a quick reply to your query.... . . I have never assembled this HEAVY Tow Bar, but these are photos from the Midland (Texas) County Sheriff's Deputy - my point of contact. You can see both the size and how they "shackled" the tow bar o the APC.

    Weight of Deuce parts

Recent FedEx shipment of a Medium Tow Bar WITH its three Pins documents it at 134 LBS. (Ships as 3 unwrapped but labeled parcels - first being just one OUTER Leg Tube with Lunette Ring; second being the other OUTER Leg Tube WITH the three Pins taped together and then slid inside with the open...

How to title a Mk48 in Oklahoma?

I suppose I wasn't clear in my first response. I suggest that you bring this to bikeman's attention by posting your situation there. Either he or someone subscribed to the VIN INFO thread might be able to assist you in locating the VIN on your MV. That thread has a long list of subscribed...
