Re: RE: Year for Vin help for 5ton and 2.5 ton
Well no I'm not shure of any thing,But looking at Mr. DD's article in MV mag. He states that the 06 lot of trucks started in '73. The one here in ? is a 0540 which means it would be pre '73. He also states that the drope side's did not get there...
From what I just read the M35a2c should be a '72 And the Xm818 is a '70 .
The "vin" for the Xm818 should be C124-12761 The 11370 is the last part of the reg #. The reg # sould start with 05 for 5 ton truck then a letter most likely F. I say this because your is only a few # newer than...
Thats good to hear. I emailed them a few year back about it and they told me the plactic pice where part of the truck   I just used some screws to reattach the old pices. On mine.
My M109 came with that kit on it. It's nice but I would have a hard time spending that much for one. I'd buy 2 more trucks :P As the 109 was only $900 with all the GL crap.
Maybe that the eng in the one is not broken in yet. It only has 3200 miles on it now. It may need some adjustments??? The truck has a rebuild tag from the 90's and the eng is yellow so it maybe new at that time. The towed one is a depote rebuilt eng as well looks to be late 80's maybe. I need to...
Went and tow the M818 home yester day I thought I'd share some pic and numbers.
MPG there was 6.26 on the trip home towing the other M818 it droped to 4.66mpg.
Avg speed was 46.02 unloaded and 45.9 loaded, this is useing the speedo and tac for miles and time so there is some idel time in that...
One thing to think about, If you use the grear oil to lube the b 2cents ears and don't drive it a lot. The oil will drain off the brearing and they will rust. Also if you drive on a slope one side will have oil and the other will not. You will also have to fill the dif alot fuller to have oil in...
Well I was back there at OKC today and pick mine up. Must have mist you some where along the way. Glade to see you could drive yours home, I had to come back with the tow bar. 10hrs behine the wheel to day :( :driver:
The Chinese supplier post on here like a year or so ago a bout those. The in tank pump maker posted on here a week or two ago. Now all we need is for the "New Star" people to start posting up.
