Congrats on 75mph! I owned my first M35A2 for only a week because it would not go over 50mph without threatening to throw the rods out the bottom. Bought a 925A2 and those roll 67mph on the governor @ 2150rpm.
Shifter kart (250cc dirt bike class, front/rear disc) can do 0-100-0mph in 10.0...
I sell new upgraded lightweight gear reduction starters in 12v and 24v, just sayin'........
The starter solenoid does 2 things: It throws out the pinion gear to engage with the flywheel teeth, and it also closes the contacts supplying battery power to the actual starter motor it is attached to...
You would be cutting engine displacement by 2/3. Throw 15,000lbs into the bed of the Dodge it came out of, and that is what it would drive like. I would use a blown motor as a chance to up-power, not down. You can probably find a good used running Cummins 400hp 855 for the cost to rebuild...
This post brings bad news. It is 3am right now, I completed the adapter harness, but the Dana CTIS diagnostic program is unable to communicate with the CTIS module. Even though the communication pins are in the module connector, there is likely no communication transponder within the CTIS...
Don't hang any from your trailer hitch. My wife will pull up snickering and say "Had to buy some huh?". She did it once to a guy in a lifted F-350 at a light, and I sprayed my pop all over the windshield.
Not so fast. I have not accomplished anything yet besides to spend money, cut myself, and make a mess. If by some remote chance I do get this to work, I'll bring it to the next MI eat and meet, if anybody has CTIS. Sorry I missed the one this month, I was busy soldering these £%#< connectors!
I must really love you guys. This is nuts. 60 closely spaced solder connections. Ugh! OK, half way done so far, one end of harness soldered up with 26 connections, and 9 pin heavy truck OBD diagnostic port mounted. Don't stay up late hoping for a success story. Not sure I will make it that...
RP1210a adapter arrived. This is the $700 component of this equation. Now have everything to attempt a CTIS interface, and it should work. I just need to get to work soldering up a zillion wires.
You are still first (second really) on a list of 3 people long so far. Stay tuned, you will know when I have it operational, which should be as soon as the comm adapter arrives. Now I know why I build stuff, so I don't have to keep waiting. Ugh.
Absolutely, but better than not having the stuff with you at all. My frame mounted boxes are full of silly stuff like jacks, chainsaws, 24v winch for bed crane, etc...., so I was out of room for tools. Plus I wanted to keep the cargo cover on board the vehicle even when not in use. I don't...
There is. But I believe they are rare/expensive/both. Suprman (SS member) chased it down pretty good and found one was made for a field update kit. He also says the CTIS diagnostic kit for the xMTV series trucks may use the same piece. But, I don't believe he ever acquired one. Since I have...
Took the day off work and went to my folks. I bought some vinyl backed outdoor fabric, supposedly 100% waterproof, and had my dad stitch up two fitted covers for these boxes. Thanks dad! I'm so lucky to have him, if I am able to do half the things he can I'll consider myself lucky.
CTIS interface harness parts are now all here and can be assembled. Now just waiting for the communication adapter to arrive, then we'll see what works and doesn't !!!
When I ordered the 9 pin heavy truck OBD diagnostic connector, it did not come with terminals or the mounting nut. Below are the part numbers for such, again, made by Amphenol:
CTIS module connector arrived today and is correct. All terminals are populated in this connector. The ones for communication with the module are not present in the truck harness connector. This connector is referred to as an Amphenol "16-26" meaning 26 pins. Below is a pic of it and the...
Bought an earlier generation front prop shaft with the carrier bearing, to replace my front shaft that does not have the carrier bearing. I have a front driveline vibration over 35mph that disappears when the front drive is actuated, so pretty sure the slip spline is worn from not being supported.
