Thanks, guys! I appreciate the input. I'll check with Jeff S. I saw a truck recently on GL in NJ (it already sold) and it had what looked like a military unit. It might not have been, but the switches looked different than any civilian units I've seen. I did give some thought to using a...
Do you have the transmission that will be swapped or do you want them to rebuild the tranny? The Allison dealer near me charges $105/hour. A completely overhauled to new transmission will run you in the $7K range.
A good friend of mine has a truck outside of Letterkenny that has some issues. Basically, the truck will run, but it runs roughly and makes "sounds" above an idle (I am not sure what those "sounds" are...this is all I was told). It could be as simple as dirty injectors, or it could be...
$150 sounds like an arbitrary amount selected by some empty suit upstairs in GL that has no clue about anything. Does this sound familiar...like everything else GL does?
Have you checked the grounds? The rear tail lights ground to the trailer chassis by means of the bolts that contact the light to the bracket. Make sure the locking washers are making contact with the metal. Also, check your trailer plug. I've had pins that were loose and others that were...
Crazy thing is, the M911s used to be darn near unwanted. I was offered a mint M911 AND M747 trailer for $24K no more than five years ago. I decided against buying the tank I was looking at and decided I did not need a trailer that was 144" wide sitting around. I wish I had bought the truck...
Understand that the listings are sometimes inaccurate, whether by accident or on purpose...I have no idea, although I'd like to have faith in humanity. I got an M817 out of ND that was listed as RUNNING. Well, it is running, but it has NO BRAKES! Be careful. Even when something says it runs...
RE: towing a m35a2 with e350 powerstroke
Check with RICKYODAY (Rick Theirs). I believe he has a 5th wheel towing device on his tractor. He might pick it up for you.
I am having a truck delivered to John Winslow's place in NC. The guy is going to dead-head back to LA (and I'm paying for it!). If you need something hauled from the NC area down to MS/AL/GA/LA area, I am sure he could do it cheaply! The guy has a detach so he could probably haul most...
Does anyone know where I can find the correct O-rings for this rim? I'd like to find the right ones if anyone has a lead. Six to ten ought to do it. Thanks!
In MD, they give us the standard bill of sale, SF97 in GL's name and a FL dealer reassignment form. To date, MD has accepted this paperwork. I wish they would simply give everyone a title like they used to (if you requested one). What a PITA!
Dave: Did the landing legs on the trailer raise it enough to allow you to hook up to the tractor or did you have to block the landing legs?
Kenny: That was the tractor you drove at Aberdeen a few years back.
I've have documented this same experience here previously. The moral of the story is...never do this again. I learned my lesson. I did not read the manual BEFORE towing two M332s. The manual clearly states that you should NEVER exceed 15 mph while towing these in tandem. You (and I) got...
