The courtesy lights have 12V piped to them all the time. The pin switches in the door jambs just complete the ground so the lights illuminate. Unless you plan on some high draw interior lights, doing it like the factory will work just fine and is painfully simple.

Bolster trailer tires and wheels should fit. They will lower it but are not much lighter. What you save in purchase price will be spent on dieting the trailer. Might consider flipping it and getting a 101 or 1101.
